When I run craftbukkit, downloaded via git repo, I can then attempt to join my server. Once i do that it sits there on the loading screen and acts like it is going to connect. I wait and wait then get a time out error. I then try to access the internet on the same computer and the internet no longer works on the machine. I can't access the internet. I scanned my computer for viruses, malware and spyware. and have not found a thing. Could it be because i installed maven wrong or how I set up the files? I know my ports are forwarded right, I set it up before with the same settings. and it has worked on all the other server wrappers like McAdmin and things like that. Help? Thanks
http://bamboo.lukegb.com/browse/BUK...raftBukkit-JAR/craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar Download and run that, rather than anything from the git repo.
I have no idea what the Git repo is for, but I thought it was for Bukkit, not CraftBukkit. The correct place to get the latest build of CraftBukkit is from the bamboo site: http://bamboo.lukegb.com/browse/BUKKIT-CRAFTBUKKIT Enjoy
What is maven? This: http://maven.apache.org/ ? If so, then no. Simply download the latest craftbukkit artifact .jar file, and run it (much like downloading the latest minecraft_server.jar from minecraft.net) In fact, follow this guide: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/faq-2-how-do-i-run-a-craftbukkit-server.462/
the git repo is a place where the code for bukkit/craftbukkit is stored/updated. maven is a library manager that makes working with code simpler (more to it than that, but whatever). most users do not need to get anything from the repo. just get the artifacts, as mentioned above
