Unable to use the /restart command

Hey guys, I am having a bit of trouble getting the /restart command to work. I set up the path inside the bukkit.yml, and I am fairly sure it is correct. Initially, I had the wrong path, and it told me it could not locate the startup script. This time, it just says process complete, but the server does not actually restart.

What I have noticed though, is when I use restart, a java process will be running, and I will not be able to start up the server again until I end it. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I am on a Mac, and am using a .command file for the startup script. I have configured it so it is executable, so that shouldn't be the issue.

EDIT: This is what happens when I try to /restart my server through the console:

EDIT 2: OH, NEVERMIND! The server does start up (hence the java process), just a new terminal window isn't opened, so I can't access the console after a restart. Any idea on this?
