    Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
    As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.​
    As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.​
    This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.​

    About:
    Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.​
    Features:

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.
    • Two ways to select land including using the select command, or using a item to select 2 points.

    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.

    Point1: I was having an issue where all of a sudden residence dumped the world save files and residence wasn't working or being saved. I have worked out the solution.

    Point2: Seeing as though the dev of this plugin seems to be missing. I am looking at paying to have this plugin updated for the new minecraft release. I know my server relies heavily on this plugin. It will cost money so if you are interested in this approach then let me know.

    A nice feature would be an /res addmember [residence] [playername] that lets them have build, use, container, move, etc permissions instead of having to type it in all the time. Also, a lease sharing option like /res sharelease [residence] [playername] would be good with a confirmation command for the other player, ie. /res sharelease confirm. This would be good for people sharing extra large areas without having to setup rentals etc. I'm thinking in terms of clan halls, large group projects etc.

    I don't think the piston permission is working correctly. I have -piston in the "Flags" output, and +piston in "You flags". However, me (as the owner), am not able to operate pistons.

    edit: I also have -use for global permissions and +use for self permissions

    Soo.. I was looking at the API, and wanted to make a plugin for this.
    Since all residences are within a WorldGuard area, no-one can build, even when they've bought the Residence.
    I want to create a plugin that auto-creates a WG region, but don't quite know how to get the Block[] from your API.

    Could you help me with that?

    We've taken the liberty to try to write an in-depth wiki-version of a guide on Residence. We use Residence on our server and couldn't live without it. It gives players the ability to manage their own land without bugging admins all the time about griefing.

    Help!! I just installed this plugin and when I try to make a selection with /Res select, it says I dont have permission to make a selection, but I'm an op and have the permission node in my owner categorie. please help me! I have had continuous problems with this plugin and I would go use Towny or other plugin but they don't work near as good!

    You shouldn't have to pay someone to do this really. Just find a willing developer who will do it for free, and I'm sure you'll find one on here...

    Are you using /stop to stop your server or just quickclosing it, because that will probably corrupt the residences.

    because i want to use ur Plugin but my hole server are runnig WorldGuard and there about 1200 Regions and that stuipid to update it :) u understand me? only one thing need to be supported that ur plugin check if a WorldGuard region is there and the user cannot get a Region there with ur Plugin

    hi, I got problem, I have

    There's nothing about renting areas.
    But now using worldguard, I managed to put residences to rent. Can't change the fact that when I create a residence is already rented to me, for X days. meaning that only the creator of the residence can rent that place at the start.

    This appears to be working fine under craftbukkit 1490, spout 543, version 1.0

    Not working with 1.0, its wiping the [worldname.yml] files clean.

    I had to use Multiverse-Core to get it to load all my additional worlds so that residence would work correctly. Still using Transporter for transports.

    Yeap, nothing, because I asked about renting AREAS or SUBZONES, not the whole residence. I thought I saw some command a long time ago, but can't find if I did or not.

    You can denote a subzone by using a period.
    For example, "RESIDENCENAME.SUBZONENAME.SUBZONENAME"
    That should be valid whenever it asks you to input a "[Residence]."

    I am having a problem if somebody can PLEASE help me with. I have latest version of residence and latest 1.8.1 version of craft bukkit (recommended build).

    I created a giant land area and protected it as "Drunkenland" I then created a appartments area and am turning each square rooms into subzones to "Rent" to other players. Problem is when they rent the room its giving them the +admin flag which allows them to set flags for their room. I dont want that possible for renting. How do i set it to default where that flag is -admin?

    And no i cant just set that flag for each room cause once somebody comes along and rents a new room OR rents a room that somebody else left, now it resets the flags to this new player. Now that play has +admin again.
