      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.

    • Wilderness Rules (Optional)
      • Area between towns is wilderness, with its own build permissions.
      • Limit players' interaction with the wild to just harvest-able blocks, keeping the wild pristine.

"[TOWNY]Only Admins are allowed to create new towns."
If I make a town for them and give them the town, it says, "[TOWNY]Not enough premissions to claim land."
    Something like that.

    Sounds like pex misbehaving.

Update to the latest dev build of towny, this was fixed.

    Okay will do :p

So then, what do I do?

Choose a permissions plugin that doesn't replace bukkit's superperms with its own version of it.
  10. Offline

What do you recommand other than PermissionsEX or PermissionsBukkit?
    Would bPermissions work fine?
  11. Offline

I'd recommend groupmanager, it passes its work back to bukkitpermissions/superperms. So any plugin that checks superperms, works. All plugins work with it and it has all the features you could need along with some exclusive ones. It is the oldest still-going permissions plugin.

I don't understand Group Manger, there is like 6 different permissions files in there. . .
Is there a wiki for this?

Thank you very much, Towny works and I remember this Plugin from a while ago.
I stopped using it because it was out of date for a while, but I'm glad someone showed me it is currently still being worked on =]

EDIT: What is Vault exactally? If I use Vault do I need iConomy or Register?
EDIT 2: I have Prefixs but when I'm in-game it won't show my [Owner] prefix like it did with the other. (I'm using ChatManager)

Vault is a helper-plugin that lets plugin authors easily allow server admins to use any Economy plugin they want, it's similar to Register. As a side-note iConomy is inactive/no longer developed, and contains a few critical bugs. If you need an economy plugin start with CraftConomy, BOSEconomy or pretty much anything that's not iCo.

Towny Supports iConomy5.01 directly (without a helper plugin). OR Vault and any economy plugin OR Register and a select number of plugins that are supported by it (slightly less than what Vault supports last I checked)

Thanks, I converted to a new Eco plugin as well, but I have a question.
When I speak in-game now my prefixes don't show.
It use to show when I used the other permissions plugin, so what plugin do I have to use to show the prefixs and sufixes for GroupManager?
  17. Offline

Make sure your groups have prefixes set up, then pastebin.com your towny Chatconfig.yml

On a server I saw if you needed a town you could write /needtown and you would get invited into there. Is this a command you turn on on a seperate plugin?
  19. Offline

Hi I have a problem with the plugin,
When someone tries to create a new town this appears:

This area is too far away from other towns.

    Pastebin of my config.yml : http://pastebin.com/qAFB553S

    From your config:
     # Maximum distance between homblocks.
    # This will force players to build close together.
    max_distance_between_homeblocks: '1'

is there a way other people can't kill non agresive mobs in the town? like a villager?
  22. Offline

This was already a feature, its fixed in the dev build.

Any link for updated versions of Questioner and Register?
Can only find Questioner 0.4 and Register 1.5

Hi, I can't turn off the auto regen in wild, I set it too false, deleted the things it should regen, and its sure towny, since I ran a server with only towny, and it regened. Help please?
    using this as conifg: http://pastebin.com/EhcN8AFU

nvm, seems that that applies to new worlds only, weird that changing the time does work, very confusing.... ahh well, I just used the ingame commands :p
  27. Offline

You do not have an economy plugin, yet your towny config has using_economy: true. Change that to false and remove register.jar. Or, get an economy plugin and leave register.jar in your plugin folder.

    * Add chest support to wilderness regen/explosion protection (they also no longer drop their contents if being regen'd)
    * You can now disable Enderpearl teleporting buy adding them to the item_use entry in the config (permissions will override).

    * Fix regen tasks so signs keep their text.
    * Fix the backup so it will only backup files it can actually read instead of throwing an error.
    * Fix town animal protection so no one can kill the animals in a plot unless they have perms to break grass in that plot.
