    MineQuest started out as a plugin to add some RPG-like progression to Minecraft. It had 8 (By default, now completely customizable) character classes (4 Combat, 4 Resource - also by default) and you gained experience by doing tasks related to the class (e.g. Warriors fight with a Sword, or WarMages cast WarMage Spells). All combat classes gained health when they went up in levels, and all classes gained related abilities at certain levels.

    An example of a custom class configuration is now available:

    Now MineQuest has grown to be a much bigger project than gaining abilities and extra health. It includes mobs that get harder over time based on a level adjustment (determined by active players in the server). It has built in economy(iConomy Supported)/town systems that are available if people so desire. Most likely the coolest thing so far is the quest system.

    Good Places to start in game are /minequest, /cubonomy (economy), and /quest (questing specific). Also poking around the help pages (Linked as more information below) gives some details about more advanced commands as well.

    MineQuest is equipped with a system that is being developed so that minecraft can have real instanced dungeons where a select party can teleport into a world that has traps, harder monsters, and special loot. When complete players are brought back to their original locations.

    These quests are completely customizable as they only load from a text file. MineQuest will search the bukkit directory for the appropriate .quest file when the quest is started. This means that anyone running a server could write a quest. Not just plugin developers!

    The spell system is nothing special, and I'm sure that others exist out there, but what really makes MineQuest unique is the complete package, dungeons and everything.

    hrmmm.. I have seen this before... let me dig around a bit and see what the deal is.

    Let us know if the first post, or the second post, and their suggestions, are likely candidates for what is happening on your server. Also post back any plugin that you are using as well so that compatibility issues can be found and possibly fixed.

    Further testing this morning has pretty much ruled out both of those.

    Plugins are all the same on test server as production server and the test server runs fine.

    Test Server works in both offline mode and online mode, so I doubt it is the second.

    Logic dictates that is must be a MySQL issue, then, since all other factors are the same (other than physical machines and OS, I suppose, but that shouldn't make a difference). Correct? As my previous posts have probably hinted at, I am not a big MySQL guy.

    No problem. Since I helped you guys I was wondering if someone could explain to me why this needs mysql and if there's anyway around it. Like for example will you ever come out with a upgraded version of this mod that would use the jar file to create a config file and quest folder so you can just simply move quests into that folder so everything works with less tinkering. If not I understand its most likely really complicated I was just not looking forward to learning about MySQL if I didn't have to.

    well actually, you don't *NEED* to use mysql. There is a configuration flag in the that allows you to set mysql=false for it to store everything locally in sqlite. This way you do not need to mess with mysql at all. I personally have not used that method as I need mysql for other things and therefore I am pretty handy in it. Perhaps someone with more use of sqlite can elaborate more.

    Does the Minequest support Permissions? If NOT - is a chance to add Permissions support for that plugin?

    jmonk has stated a few pages ago that he is willing to look into Permissions support. It will be some time, so please be patient and start using MQ :)

    Ok guys found a couple more bugs..
    First one:
    Heal other consumes your bucket if you cast on any block or any entity that is not a player. (ie. zombie)
    Skeletons are not doing damage to players until a certain amount of health, or another reason for damage/healing. Fairly interesting. I have seen my players get hit from arrows, heal themselves, and then die as the result. I believe it isn't applying the damage until after something else causes the plugin to look at the player's health.

    I forget if we asked you what other plugins you were using or not. The health issue may be related to another plugin that deals with health changes as well.

    Gah, I cant get enough of this plugin on my test server, but I can't upload it to my actual server because it lacks multi-world (or permissions to imitate multiword) support.
    I hope he adds some form of multiworld support soon!

    JMonk promised to add a world option, so that u can decide which worlds should be affected by the plugin :D . And im waiting for that too :p

    Does Cubonomy have a command for players to give cubes to other players without using iconomy, like a /give_cubes <playername > <number> or something?

    EDIT: As i uploaded a wrong version and some ppl now say, that they cant dl again due to premium issues, i have updated the correct version and uploaded it here too.

    I have downloaded the plugin and corrected the file to match the MySQL database.
    But It cant connect to the Database, It simply says cant connect, edit your config files, and I have looked them over again and again.

    Maybe I have misunderstood something.
    DB is the name of the database, here Minequest.
    and the Url is localhost, since the DB is on the same server.
    The password and username are as they imply, Password and usernames.
    and the port is the port.

    Please help me, and a more detailed tutorial would be nice.

    Do you by chance have mysql=false? If so it needs to be mysql=true

    Check your username for case sensitivity maybe.

    jmonk, another bug: The super mobs that spawn in mainworld will turn a sign block into dirt, when it reverts, the sign will snap to the north (i think) face and be floating in air in some cases :( NPC's also attract enemies and creepers can blow massive areas away if the server has been running awhile underneath the NPC's. Could you make the mainworld supermobs disable'able?

    I have the same problem on my server, though only one player is causing it, and relogging didn't help, and a server reboot didn't fix it either. Very curious.

    Also, in regards to the peacemage skill, I'm not sure if you've become aware of this, but the negative to skill seems to only occur if you cast before the cooldown is ready.

    can you add a config option to completely disable certain features like certain classes (i don't like the non-combat ones for example)

    also i'm desperately wating for permissions support
