Idea: When Minecraft checks if everyone is in their beds too skip night, makes it ignore a user if he/she is OP or have a certain permission node. This would make it easier for some admins, so they wouldn't need to sleep if they have to do something else ingame. Or make stop guests from logging in and afk to render beds useless. I don't know the limits of the Bukkit API, so i don't know if this would be possible... If so, sorry!
