Port forwarding VS Logmein Hamachi, What is safer?

Hello Bukkit community!,

I have started a private (Whitelisted) Minecraft server for me and my friends to play on however my dad , when I used hamachi, wasnt happy with it because he believes it to make our computers venerable. Please can you advise me on what is better at keeping our computers secure and what vunrabulitys hamachi and port forwading creates and which choose is more secure.

Please help as I am desperate to play with my friends

portforeward is much easier. portforewarding port 25565 for your server wont harm any security, just make sure to add your port in your firewall and keep your firewall on

 

Do you know any good firewalls that are lite. Do they don't compromise security but don't affect lag?
