    Leave server-ip in server.properties empty.

Okay this might fix it, when this happens to me (often) it works every time! If on Windows (any from XP n up) click start, if XP click run and type "taskmgr.exe", if vista or 7, type "task manager" and open. Once open on either, go to 'processes' tab. Find "javaw.exe" (not sure if it's exactly that, might be similar...) and right click, end processe tree.

Let me know if my method worked! I'm curious x)

That just kills the process. No way that works.

that problem is already fixed, but i can't connect to my server,

    okay,
this is what i have done:
    -1 i have created a static ip
-2 i opened my routers webpage,
    -3 i port forwarded the port: 25565
    -4 and now i don't know what's going wrong :S

OK the thing is, when you open or accidentally click on the craftbukkit1.2.5-R4.0 pr whatever, Iit DOES "emulate" for lack of a better word, your server.

This might sound basic and almost insulting in a way, but your not trying to connect through YOUR ip right? your using your ip4v address:25565 right?

Edit: If your going to a site that shows u ur ip such as ipchicken.com, make sure you're not using that ip. Once again, pretty basic x) Just don't want to do hardcore troubleshooting to find such a easy solution lol.

Edit2: You could try to connect through localhost like he said. Here's a simple picture of what it should look like in minecraft, it IS! case sensitive.

    when i run cmd, and i do ipconfig/all there isn't an ip4v address only a ip-address

and, i made a static ip: 192.168.178.16 instead of my normal ip: 192.168.178.18

Whoa, whoa... no IPV4? I have honestly NEVER heard of such a thing, please make sure you scroll up the CMD as there is most likely multiple devices on your modem/router (Xbox, iPod, etc.) and you just gotta, gotta not be finding the IPV4 ip... and oh yea IDK what a static ip is. Derp. 0.0 <--- I just googled static ip and learned it's what an ip adress is, but, just I failed. I know what a static IP is.

EDIT: To verify if the port forwarding is at fault, have your tried localhost like the picture?

OK, why did you create a static IP and not just used your local IP, you said it was like 192.168.178.18?

I don't know everything about everything in IP's, but I thought the last two sections in a IP (example: 192.168.THIS.THIS as if those were numbers, could only both range 1-9, with an exeption of the last section being 1-999...

EDIT: Ignore this post until we check ethernet connection.

Well, maybe. Sorry but I'm almost braindead in IPs. Lol, it's worth a shot but I do know you WILL! forsure get different info it you use ethernet, because in CMD, if your using ethernet it'll say " Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:" and something else for wireless. It's DEFFINITELY worth a shot and I should of asked you this.

Sure, sure. If you can please check ethernet, because I believe that is why... (thanks for pointing that out, lol.)

Could you ever connect to this server in the past?

Well, I'm going to sleep :) 3aM HERE.

Please note: The 192.168 address IS a IPV4 address.
If you launch your server, and it starts fine, make sure it's running on port 25565.
Then, on the same computer, connect to your server by entering localhost in the IP box.
This will connect you to 127.0.0.1, which is your own computer.
This *should* let you connect to your own server.
If not, I'd like to see your full server.properties, bukkit.yml, and the output of ipconfig.
