    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Suggestions of mods to port
      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    yea i have installed the client side mods aswell, including the 16-bit, everything is fine in the game, until i try and craft a "new" item or try and /give it to myself

    Theres a typo in

    remove the second t.




    This thread gets SWAMPED with installation problems (most of the time people NOT following the instructions). This leads to real bug posts getting lost in the noise.

    Could you set up a seperate thread / whatever to split these? The number of install problems reported and discussed is way too much in here imo, although icephantom does a splendid job on handling these.

    I do that and i obtain the same error, i Have delete the META-INF in craftbukkit,

    I don't understand anything.
    With itemcraft 1.3.4 the server work (my server provider install the 1.3.4)
    And when i put the 1.3.8 i get the error =(

    That's a good idea. It gets disorganized with all this stuff mixed in. Too bad I don't have moderating powers to move about posts. Then again I wouldn't want that either, too much work. I wonder if the moderators will grant having multiple threads for a single plugin though.

    First don't try to /give the items, you can't really. Second go into single player and try to craft there first, if that works, I would suggest reinstalling the mods completely both client and server side.

    Hey there...

    today i have setup a new server with all stuff included (the transferred mods) and it works with the first run... so to all the ppl that have problems.. i really suggest you havent cleaned up your directories of all the old things... my experience was.. always begin with IC and the plugins for IC. Mod the Server + the Client simultanously and check compatibility after every step.

    Its really not to hard to bring this to work.. no its simple if you follow the instructions...

    But this was not the reason why i posted now.. just a reaction reading all this reports of failure.


    The reason was that there is a mod i really liked to see ported to Bukkit. The mod uses only one single Block-ID and with this ID you could really do awful stuff in the purpose of creative building. This mod would be a nice feature for creative bukkit servers and for any other server surely as well....

    So take a look on this:

    Its in WIP stage but released and in singleplayer there are no bugs/problems and it works along with alot of other mods.

    That's a pretty good mod, although I'd like to place the blocks without having to walk around it that much, just by pointing at the right corner of the block. I imagine some block combinations aren't possible because there's 2^8=256 possible combinations, and theres only 4 bits for metadata, so that'd be 16 block ids per type. I guess its not possible to make ceiling stairs or anything where a block isn't placed on another block underneath it. Maybe its not possible to place them diagonally either but they'd needs to be connected.
    Edit: Nm, this guy must be doing something else, maybe using tile entities, looking at all the different types of microwoolblocks he got in one block.

    How do you start the server is not the thing that leads to the problem... it only shows: there is any incombatibilty between user client and the server files. If you use all plugins from here.. i remember there was a ID conflict.. when you use all plugins.. Server will not care about and will start with this ID but the clients will crash or unable to login...

    Maybe its helpful to deactivate some of the plugins first and just run the server with only one plugin to see if it works?

    Or you can change ID´s but they have to be changed for client and server....

    Mostly unused ID´s are 212-254 and lets see arrgh ähm 130-160 or so^^

    @asdraag you can point an click and the microcube is placed exactly at the position you´re pointing at.. this was a relative new feature in this mod...

    i have a problem that is launcher based,the server works fine but when i enter the game after some time it black screens and then crashes

    no i can't get it to work... I have disabled all the mods exept the ones that we are using and it still wont work....
    But the wierd thing is that we have seen two of the trees on our server.. but no creatures from the mod, or apple trees or pink ones....

    THIS is the single best thing that happend to Minecraft since its start. I fully support this, if there is any help needed to port this, i am willing to help.



    In your initial startup file the typo was present.

    Try this:

    Hey guys,
    I dont rly want to steal ur time, but i rly need ur help.
    My server works, atleast i think so.

    Im just using the mo`s creature mod an instaled it on my client. (works in single player)
    Cookbook works just fine aswell.

    But if im activating IC i cant connect to my server anymore. Pressing connect then it just appears "loggin in..."
    and then my Minecraft client turns into this...

    and crashes.

    Sitting infront of my pc for hours now searching a method to fix this problem.

    Im very sorry if i annoy some1 with my noobish question or the bad english, i talk.

    Hello Asdaarg, impresive work you have done here! :eek:
    I am also trying to add new blocks to bukkit, with client side modding of course.
    I am starting from scratch, could you please helps us a little bit by giving some hints to this threat ?

    Is is just the minimal code needed to add a new block in bukkit. Client side is fine, but server side does not work.

    It's only the first version of the mod that places blocks in the left corner from were you are standing.

    Is it possible to add like a stair but with a other material and not make a new id for it, instead add a damage value ?

    This looks really interesting, the thing is though, I don't understand what the below step is for.

    WHERE do I put this? I am more exasperated than anything that people just put this code but don't tell you where to put it or anything, My apologies if it seems like I'm yelling at you. >.< I just like it when the instructions are clear for the less knowledgable people (I mean Notch does the same thing on his download page!)

    If it can be explained where I should put this, I'd appreciate it, I tried it in the cmd console and that didn't work. >.>

    I started using a RAMDISK for my minecraft server and I have to say that it really helped a lot with performance on ItemCraft, especially with the 20+ Bukkit plugins I am running as well as all available ItemCraft mods. Simply put, it has been amazing so far as compared to physical disk. Even snappier than on MLC solid state disk; seems that the disk access is such a problem on Minecraft SMP that RAM solves things without the CPU even noticing a hit LOL.
