MCI keeps joining my server and leaves. Who is this kid spamming me! D:
If this is a player logging in and out, and it's a problem; just ban or ipban the player and you don't need to worry about it anymore.
lol I decided to google for this and this post comes up. This has been happening to us for weeks... months even. We just had to ban that username because it was an ongoing and seemingly never ending problem.
Wow, my server too! And a few other servers that I join!
I had 2-3 people doing that on my whitelisted server about a month ago. Not by that name though.
MCI is minecraft-index.com, it's their way of pinging your server.
what???? dude he/it hacked my server
No, he/it did not.
You can use an IPTable to block the MCI (minecraft-index) IPAddress.
If you don't have IPTables installed look here.
This is the format for blocking IP's with IPTables: sudo iptables -A INPUT -s IP-ADDRESS -j DROP
And here is the command to block the MCI IP: sudo iptables -A INPUT -s 18.104.22.168 -j DROP
This has worked for me. Just copy and paste the command into your server terminal (Not Minecraft)
EDIT: You need to reboot your server for this to take effect.
http://www.minecraft-index.com here is the mci player, the website checking your server status
