I just wanted a simple server to play with family and friends. I set my Bukkit server IP to my network's IP and it works for anyone who is in my LAN, but does not work for anyone outside of it. This is because my network administrator has set the network to have a firewall for incoming traffic. I am not able to change this option, and I need an IP to give to the software to make this work. I will NOT take any IP addresses from strangers, unless it is needed. Any ideas and/or questions?
what are you using to host the server, if its from your own computer then only people on the same network will have access, you need an external server, such as MCProhosting, for anything more than that
Would using a VPS help? Or perhaps port forwarding? How does the Bukkit GUI's port forwarding work exactly?
@Joey H. Port forwarding is the network administrator job. VPS would help as they forward it for you.
