How much RAM to allocate to Bukkit?

    I have a 4GB server. I noticed that the default RAM allocation is 2GB. I was just wondering what would be the best allocation for performance. I know that java needs RAM as well so that's why I'm asking.

    craftbukkit IS java. What you're talking about, is system resources.. yes?

    If it's a VPS, try aiming for around 3.5GB of the 4. This leaves 512MB for other resources.
    If it's shared hosting, go with all 4.
