I am sort of new to Linux hosting. I am having problems with the server using large amount of CPU. I have seen my server use around 9% without anyone online at the time. This was without any plugins installed and complete vanilla (bukkit). My server has a 2.5 GHz Quad core, 4GB DDR2 RAM, (Not sure on the HDD But the map is running off a Ram Disk). I have seen it to where I will get upwards of 90% CPU usage (on that core) with only 5 or so people online. Is there something I am missing that I should know about to help fix this? If anyone can help me, Please do. Thanks ahead of time.
The server should not really be CPU intensive, if you mean constant load instead of just occasional peaks, try removing some plugins, maybe there's a bug.
It is a constant load around 50-70% with a full server (We had to limit the players to 10) Oh, And its without any addons
