How would you make an item look like a weapon to other players? For example how would you make a music disc be held like a sword. Not the blocking; just make it be held like a sword.

If this is not possible with bukkit, is it possible with a mod. And will the mod work on a default bukkit server for the players?

 

Texture packs, and mods are not supported here.

 

any mod installed into your multiplayer server will require all of your players to have the mod installed as well.

If you're asking if you can make a music disk look like a sword, you can use a texture pack, however if you're asking if you can change the way it's held to look like a sword, you need client-side modification. I have no idea how multiplayer mods work, and they are not supported here as this forum is for Bukkit development.

You could use packet manipulation, but that can get dicey.
Look up ProtocolLib on BukkitDev.

 

You would need a client mod to make certain items render like a sword, which isn't supported here.
