    it is intentional i guess :p frigidus turns lava back into obsidian too. as far as i know, it should be configurable in the config file.
    lil problem though: the config file doenst seem to talk to the plugin.... tried to turn "praemium" off... but it's still usable :x (pro tip: NEVER use ultima praemium in a cave without a book... 1: ultima lag 2: say bye to all of ur hard work on the surface :D it reaches there all the way from bedrock xD... long live backups :p)

    Is there a way to bind spells to books? If not I think that's a good idea.
  3. Well, it would go against the spirit of the plugin. Every kind of wand or shortcut is banned, because it would just remove the key aspect of the plugin: You can use the spells if you know how to write them and what they do.

    Also, I just thought of a new suggestion, it would open some interesting possibilitys in my opinion...

    Well, I thought of, for example, a diamond block(or another block, maybe a new one, you use spout after all, you could call it a magic gem) which can be enchanted. Maybe like
    A)Just taking a sign, write the spell on it and place the sign on the block. Don't like it that much, cuz signs needs space and are not fitting for something magical.
    B)Same as A, but you need to use a spell to let the sign merge with the block. Would be more neat than having a wooden sign on a wizard-stone I guess...
    C)Or just aim for the stone, use an Integrate-Prefix and then type the spell to implent in the stone.

    The use of it you ask? I would just love to activate spells per redstone, or even better, To let a wizard allow to spot them per another spell(or per integrated detector/sonar sound or closeness-meter, its your choice) and activate them or de-enchant them on distance with ANOTHER spell. The use of this, you ask?
    You could build wizard-dungeons with it(where their own magic power could be a bit limited, to make the blocks necessary, or other circumstances which make them necessary) that have some neat mechanics, legend of zelda-style. Maybe a dungeon with a whole complex of frigidus and concalesco stones which manipulates the dungeon so hard that frigidus gives it an ice-theme and concalesco a nether-like. This is just an example. Or simulated magic fans with vello and urgeo. I can think of tons of uses.
    Maybe, again a suggestion which involves the bookworm plugin, in the dungeons there are librarys which contain a little spell dictionary for which all true warrio- err- Wizards strive for, especially if there is finally a way to configure the spell names so they need to find it out through the books before using it. This, again is inspired by zelda-dungeons.

    Of course the bocks could also be used for neat effects for your home and some magic traps.

    Hope you like it, I would love such a feature soooo much:).

    Ok, didn't work for me. Not that surprising I guess being that I am running a Dev build... Essentially it tries to pass every "spoken" word to the plugin (i'm guessing that was the idea though) but for some reason it can't "...pass event PLAYER_CHAT to Vinc...".

  9. FINALLY, first recommend build for 1.0.1 . The full released game+adventure update and this plugin will make minecraft 10 times more awesome, and minecraft already is a very awesome thing.
    What are you going to do now with the new mechanics minecraft got? Simple buff spells, or maybe something more complex?

  11. Argh, a summonable enderdragon? Really? Because summoning the one and only boss enemy of the game(for now, let's hope there is coming more, development isn't dead after all) is a bit... no, it's just plain overpowered, even if you would go for your health and hunger, it just can't end well. This thing destroys matter and entitys single-handed, there's no other reason to summon him than being a griefing guy who wants a pet. However, I would like things like magma cube army(just slime army with magma cubes, can't be hard to code) or summoning some blazes(which could act like floating bodyguards that don't attack you but follow you, they are in fact nether guardians).
    And how about... hm... I will edit if I think of something new.

    I need some help, mostly because I am very new to minecraft and bukkit. I has put the Vincantatio Jar in my servers plugin folder, I also have SideKick and TravelPortals. Once in game I get no results from typeing one of the spells, say Lux. What else do I need to do to be able to use spells?

    Once again, apologies for my ignorance.

    on a different note, who said that summoning the enderdragon would shortcut the game? I could do so much to it; first of all, not queue the end of the game, maybe weaken it, maybe make it an npc to sell your soul to. Maybe make the spell 2 paragraphs long, requiring 4 other people in a ritual to summon it as well as requiring a player sacrifice; etc. These are half baked awesome ideas, imagine if I actually sat around and thought about it.

  17. Ah ok, if it requires a huge ritual, then it's nearly alright. There's still the problem that the enderdragon would be a huge griefers pet and killer machine, even if it has minimal life and/or attack power. Oh well... and what if the human sacrifice actually BECOMES the enderdragon? So some kind of very powerful morph-spell(morph spells in general would be an addition IMO, the plugin mobdisguise would show how it works). It would enable the possibility to control it and thus hinder it to destroy the landscape and all npcs on it. Oh yeah, and how about letting the 4 summoning wizards become the enderdragons life energy? So, for example, if all wizards have 10 Hearts, the enderdragon technically can suffer the damage of 40 hearts. If it gets hit, the damage will be shared by the wizards. Of course, you could also kill the wizards first to destroy the enderdragon. I think that would be some nice additions to the idea.

    I have this plugin on my server but it doesn't work for some reason. Is there any way you could help me? I didn't know what type of info I should have posted to show the error so I just didn't....
  20. Did you use spoutcraft and spout server plugin? It doesn't work without it, because the plugin doesn't check if spout is implented/installed or not, it just uses it. That causes the plugin to break and thus to not work at all, just because it requests something(Spoutcraft and spout) that isn't there.

    Oh yeah, and if you post an error, please paste the error-text of your server console in your post, it really helps the dev to find out the problem.

    Would it be possible to have some sort of Mana "bar" in this plugin, or other alternatives to using food to power the spells? Some of the spells would be really awesome to have, but given that they only use up food (a relatively inexpensive and easy to replenish thing) they become overpowered. I know of other "magic spell" plugins that use a mana counter, but they are not as interesting or as diverse in spell types as this one is. Keep up the good work!
  22. I suggested a mana bar before, and according to the dev of this plugin, it would go against the spirit of the plugin, because the limit shouldn't be a threshold, it should be wisdom. However, he also said that he can(and hopefully will) make a mana bar via spout, because he's pretty used to it. I will quote a bit of the discussion:

  24. Yep, it needs it. The dev implented spout support with the new version, but it seems that he was a little bit clumsy, because he forgot to make the plugin ask if spout is actually there(and thus save it from a failure if spout isn't there). This is why you need spout now and didn't need it before.
    I'm pretty sure he will fix it soon, but for now: Just use spout. It's cool anyway.

    Everything else works fine, only tueri doesn't. I installed the spout plugin and I'm using the spout launcher. I did not alter the config.
    I folishly assume that I installed something wrong. Do you have any idea what the problem is?

    thats definately a spout error. it cannot find an installed version of spout. Specifically, its trying to attach a neat little bar to the screen for tueri to represent the remaining hp, but cannot find the requested spout commands to do so
  28. Huh... that's odd. I use the spout server plugin and the spoutcraft launcher. Maybe I accidently used the wrong build or something like that, the console clearly said that spout is running(no error in doing so) and I used the latest recommend build for spoutcraft.
    Oh well, thank you anyway, now I know where to find the error.

    Edit: ... huh. I tried recommend and dev build, none of them seems to work. What else could the error be? Does it need some icons for the tueri bar that he doesn't find? Or what else could be the problem?

    it does search the internet for an icon; i could do much better than that. Its a possibility that it moved locations, but it should default to no image before it crashes

    unless something drastic changed with 1.0 bukkit, im not sure. the default for not being able to find the icon is dont do anything about it.
