I've made sure that the spawn area has flags set up for use-allow, chest-allow, etc. So they should be able to use it. Did I use the wrong wording for the perm? Help much appreciated. Thanks.
your permission nodes a bit off should be something like essentials.signs.use.sell... here is where you can find them: http://ess.khhq.net/wiki/Command_Reference/Perm in the search window right about the perm list you can just search for the word sign to see all the permission nodes.
Like what Snipes01 said, you got the permission nodes wrong, it should be something like this: - essentials.signs.use.sell - essentials.signs.use.time - essentials.signs.use.buy - essentials.signs.use.warp
