    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    • Fixed a bug with new Portals
    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

    Please can someone help me.

I am OP and Admin on a server. I have all the multiverse permissions and im OP so can access everything anyway. When I do /plugins I see that multiverse is installed, but whenever I try ANY multiverse command, it says unknown console command.

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

NVM: It is using MV 1 not 2.

Quick question; I don't want to upgrade Craftbukkit yet, but i'd really like to have a flat or empty world on my server. Is it possible to install this on a 2nd server, generate a flat or empty world, then just move those worlds over to my main server? Or would any new regions be like on "normal" worlds, once that is on my main server running MV 1. I hope someone understands what i mean.. :)

Pretty sure you would have that problem, yeah. People were running into that with the skylands, but go ahead try and see what you get. If it works, you got your flat land, if not, you are only out the time and a full trash bin on the comp.

just use of one the the flat world generators and set up your bukkit.yml to use it on the world you want specified. here is part of mine...

    Code:
    worlds:
        caketown:
            generator: BananaCakeTown
'caketown' is whatever you want your map to be called. 'generator' is the name of the plugin file (you dont need to add the file extension .jar). so if you wanted a map named 'flat' with a generators whos downloaded file is called 'flatworlds.jar' then:

    Code:
    worlds:
        flat:
            generator: flatworlds
this works fine for me on mv 1.7.2 i have 4 different world gen plugins set up this way. once you load for the first time after installing whatever world gen plugin you picked and setting up bukkit.yml this way, just /mvimport and then /mvtp or set up a portal or whatever.

@Multiverse Author or Admins who use Multiverse: I'm using Multiverse and Essentials. I have created a PvP world where OPs and players have minimal permissions. I have disabled all "teleportation" commands in the new PvP world, but players in our main world can still /tp or /tpo (from Essentials permissions) to players in the PvP world and suprise attack them with short notice. /tptoggle is nice (from Essentials permissions), but not everyone remembers to activate it when entering the PvP world and /tpo can override it. So . . .

Is there a way to prevent all direct teleportation to all players in a specific world? (with Multiverse or another plugin?)

The only way players could enter and exit this PvP world would be via a Multiverse Portal.

I need to leave /tpo and /tp ON for my players & OPs in the main world.

I have taken time to look through this thread, and on all of bukkit.org for a solution.

@Multiverse Team - If this isn't yet possible, would you please add a permission node that prevents players from using a /tpo or /tp (from Essentials or any other teleport plugin) to them? Do you have the overall ability to block a type of teleport from another plugin for an entire world?

Thanks You Very Much to anyone who can help improve our PvP world experience! :)

You need to edit your permissions to block the teleporting command in the other world.

    Also a question I have.

Will settting a world that Multiverse to the default world mess up anything with the map or should everything be fine?

  11. Offline

    clownfish

@rmb938 - Ty for your quick reply. Have you done this yet? I've looked for this, but have not found it yet. Are you using 'Essentials with GroupManager' or 'Permissions'? I was able to 'block' all users currently in the PvP world from using a teleporting command, but not the users in the main world from using /tp or /tpo to sneak attack PvP world players. If you know of a specific pluign or permisson node please reply back with it. TYVM! -Clownfish

Ahh I see your problem. You would have to get some sort of custom plugin made that checks if the players are in a different world or not and if they are don't teleport.

Any chance that iConomy 6 support could be added? I understand it is not a final release as of right now but 5.0.1 seems half-baked anyways so its not really much different in terms of stability.

    6!
Didn't they just release 5! and the changed the API ENTIRELY! Why are they Changing it again! Are they doing this to deliberately piss us off :/

I'll get allpay updated for iCo 6 support sometime this week...

Think your question got answered. but MV2 supports what you want. If a player does not have perms to enter a world, it does not let them. Plain and simple.

Well I personally don't need to 'use' iConomy with MultiVerse, it just throws a fit when I have 6 installed even if I don't use the iCon features that MultiVerse offers. Others the only other plugin I need updated is Jobs and I'd be a happy camper. :)

In moving the spawn point around a bunch it looks like the game is applying a random offset to the spawn location and not spawning new players directly at the spawn spot. This leads to it spawning players not where I'd like them to spawn.

I'd love to help you track this down but I won't be able to get on IRC until very late Monday night (we're talking probably around 1AM pacific) due to my work schedule.

I'm using the Core and Portals. I can set up portals and use them, as long as I don't restart the server. After the restart the portals don't work. The worlds need to be imported every time. The portals, however, persist in name. I have to "/mvp remove portal" and recreate it for it to work.

Please post your startup log on pastebin.com

Dunno. This is their problem, not a Multiverse. Multiverse enables MultiWorld, MultiWorld is a CraftBukkit feature.

    multiverse.portal.access.NAMEOFPORTAL

Hrm, I'm in Mountain Time, so we may have to wait a week to look at this. I have not seen MV ever do this, make sure you're using CB 1060 and the latest stable MV2. Make sure another plugin is not causing the problem (ie. disable everything except for MV2 and see if the problem persists)

    From the OP:
    multiverse.portal.access.NAMEOFPORTAL

(I know I responded identically like 2 posts up, but i'm trying to get better about responding to every post)

The location is stored in the world files themselves. We switched to this method so that if you decide that someday(and we know this won't happen :p) if you decide to swich world management plugins, or even pull your Multiplayer world into single player, you'll have the same spawn.

There is an open ticket for storing the pitch/yaw (meaning it is being worked on).

Not at this time. Bukkit does not support this as a per-world setting, only globally. For now, if you want to block flight on a per-world basis, please check out the anti-cheat plugins (I don't know if what you're looking for exists). Sorry.

    From the OP:
Sounds to me like you have a file permissions issue. Start up your server, do an /mvimport blah blah blah, then go check the worlds.yml file inside the Multiverse-Core folder. If it's empty, you have a file permissions problem. If it's not, delete worlds.yml. Restart your server and try again.
