I'm not really looking for a trader NPC. I don't really have any interest in giving my server an economy right now. Is there any plugins that allow me to create NPC's that just stand idle in places across the server? And is it possible to edit their skins? (lets say I wanted a group of templar knights, could I create some NPC's then give them templar skins?) If you just want them standing doing nothing you can create them. But the point is that you can name your NPC like a Real player with a skin. Like 'Notch' you then have a NPC named Notch and that as the skin of Notch. Skins are handled Client-Side. And the client looks the skins up based on username.
oh sorry, i didn't read your post right. this plugin allows you to just place a NPC which is doing nothing (but saying something if you hit him)
