    No.... build 339 is a 1.7.3 build, so it will never work on 1.8+.

    I would love to hear what the Spout Devs think of this idea:

    I dug around and didn't see any responses to this request. Having just been locked out of my own server because I updated my SC / MC client, this idea really sounds brilliant. Furthermore, any Rsync or Zsync implementation built into Spout / Spoutcraft could also be used for chunk caching / updating, and for reducing bandwidth used by any other client-side update for that matter...

    Latest CraftBukkit dev build you can't see what you type to the server after you submit it the log doens't show your chat.

    Spoutcraft build 411.

    Issues:

    1. .null., inventory issue not caused by SpoutCraft.
    2. Memory usage (F3) shows 16170mb usage of 1780mb, showing 177%???
    3. FPS shows random frequent spikes
    4. Performance is is very laggy and not responsive.

    Performance is mostly a vanilla issue, we haven't gone back over it and improved it again yet.
     
  10. Non 1.8 related question!

    Would you be able to give more clarity on the the future custom block etc etc apis? I have been wondering how spout would handle complex block systems (such as betterthanwolves and industrialcraft) if it has to replace each custom block with stone when clients without the mod connect? Is this even possible for the future of spout or will there always be a reason to look into modloader etc?

    I'm a beginner in Java coding now, i know c, .. etc, but that's not the question ! xD

    I want to beta-test the 1.8.1 spoutcraft builds, but now it makes 2days i'm trying, without success.
    Here is my steps :
    - Download Lastest Spoutcraft Build#
    - Place a clean minecraft.jar 1.8.1 in appdata/roaming/.spoutcraft/bin (i created the folders '.spoutcraft' and 'bin')
    - I place the spoutcraft files in minecraft.jar correctly, and i run the spout launcher.
    - I log into the launcher and press Login, i checked 'use lastset dev builds' and sometimes 'lastest lwjgl libraries'

    Launcher shows me this :
    "Failed to launch spoutcraft
    Tou can only play spoutcraft 1.7.3
    if you had installed it before the 1.8 Update :("
    and crashed with a white screen, i must take down javaw.exe in the task manager to kill the program.

    And console says :

    It doesn't replace each block with stone when the clients without the mod connect. Each block actually IS stone underneath. Basically, whatever we do it, it doesn't really matter. There will be a fully fledged API for custom blocks where you can do whatever.

    I don't think the launcher will work at all unless you already had it installed before 1.8. Instead, you will need to manually modify your normal Minecraft in your .minecraft folder or use something like a modding profile manager that does that.

    The launcher needs an overhaul to handle updates better, we're working on it.

    You don't really have to post for every single build. It's a dev build. We haven't looked at performance yet. We are aware of it. (Not just you but also @dockter was posting quite often about the same problems)

    You should make an issue on github for each thing, but don't tell us the thing still exists every single build. We aren't saying "Hey we think we fixed it, try this" we didn't even touch that area yet. Not trying to be mean, I appreciate the feedback, I just would prefer it organized on github vs posted for every build in the thread. Then we (devs and users) can keep track of what is supposed to have been fixed, what still needs looking at, etc. It's simpler than reposting the whole list every build.
