   here is a little trick for typing strange charactors
   "§" hold alt and type 0167 on numpad (make sure numlock is on)
   "º" hold alt and type 167 on numpad (make sure numlock is on)
   the reason there are 2 different results is that "alt 0167" is left unchanged and is entered as unicode charactor 167
   whereas "alt 167" is translated into the a different charactor set or language
   
   also note for setting the motd , plugins can change it too
   so if you see things like number of players, the current time, or anything that changes its probibly done by a plugin
