Admins: How many regular players do YOU have?

When I ran a server earlier this year I used my ridiculously active forum to promote my server on rankings. Even if I was on the top of the rankings, I only had a maximum of like 15-30 on at a the same time, sometimes it was even as low as just me. I should have invested more on minecraftforum, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that without simply making a thread in the beta servers section as that seems like a very competing marketing space which is ineffective for smaller servers.
