Please use the template and another idea is so you can use /fight <player> and the player must accept using /faccept and then pvp is enabled for both those players but can only fight each other.
So my plugin BattleArena does 1v1, team vs team, or any combination. You can also duel other players and a bunch of other functionality. Let me know if you try it and need help setting it up!
You could try my plugin, if you prefer an easier set up CLICK MEH but battle arena is much more stable, hope you find what you need
