1.8.8 Essentials?

    Hello, My Minecraft Friend started a server and he downloaded Essentials but It comes up like a Essential Emergency and the Server version is "Server is running CraftBukkit version git-Spigot-db6de12-18fbb24 (MC:1.8.8) (Implement API version 1.8.8-R0.1-SNAPSHOP)"

    There is no official Essentials for Spigot. We are migrating to Sponge.

    Necrodoom is very unhelpful as you can tell. There's an unofficial updated version for 1.8+ that Spigot has compiled. You can download it here: https://hub.spigotmc.org/jenkins/job/Spigot-Essentials/

    If I don't say it, Necrodoom will; The Essentials team will not provide support for the forked version that Spigot has made, instead you'd contact Spigot.
