Colors in chat

Hey bukkit,

My friend, katzpajamas333, cant see any color im minecraft chat. Now i dont know if this is due to bukkit fixing code or what. I can see it perfectly fine. Does anyone know the cause of this?

than ask that friend who dont see colors to go to any other server and see if he can see colors on chat

 

he can NOT see any color in chat. he CAN see colored signs though

 

but on other servers too ?

if yes than i think he just moded his minecraft ask him did he used mcpatcher or any mods

 

cant see color on ANY server. still can sign sign color on any server.

he said that he uses a flymod called MyCraft.

What should I tell him to do?

 

Could that be a client error? Has he tried backing up his save files and stats and reinstalling Minecraft? Or maybe try playing it directly from Minecraft.net?

ask him to move his moded minecraft.jar from application data folder to any other folder for example to desktop

now he should let game download new minecraft jar and see if he can see colors

 

ill tell him and report back to you.

 

its 3 am here i need to go to sleep


if on clean minecraft jar it still dont work it mean its problem with his gfx card ask him than to try to update his graphic card drivers

if it will work on clean minecraft jar it mean it was problem with the mods
than ask him to use mcpatcher and UNMARK custom colors and than try his mod

 

he can see color in browser minecraft.net

 

than it seams that his mod mess it up

 

Uhm, this is an issue with his graphics card and 1.1 of minecraft, it is all over the net.

I doubt it's a problem with his computer if this is the case.

I concur. Most likely an issue with his modification. It doesn't make sense that he can see colors on signs, and colors online, if there's a problem with his graphics card. So, yeah.

 

i tried to delete all his previous minecraft stuff/files. Re-downloaded it, and he still cant see color

 

was he ever able to see colors ?

and did u try GmK's solution ?

 

he doesnt know where to put the mq.class so can u give me a step by step process for PC

he did not try gmK solution, he could see color before he got NodusUpdate.jar

Replace the mq.class file inside your minecraft.jar archive.
Delete META-INF

he doesnt have meta-inf and he doesnt have mq.class! where does he put mq.class!

 

if he dosent he just need to put it in side minecraft.jar and if he dont have meta inf than its deleted already so its fine


or he use winrar to open minecraft.jar to put that mq.class in or he need to extract it so u have minecraft folder with all files inside

and just drop to that folder mq.class and than go into that folder
select all files and pack them as jar got it ?

i use tug zip to create jar files
