A few problems with bukkit

(I currently use bukkit build 1317)

So am using the essentials group permissions plugin. Since i am the owner of this server, i have a *. (meaning basically i have every access to every command.) But when i do the following commands:

/gamemode [name] 1
/reload
/reload all

Or something like that i get the error:
Bukkit sad, bukkit want you to access command so bukkit will leak tears
What can i do to fix this?
I have tried giving my self a * in the user files and it still does nothing.

Also: If anyone has a permissions system they would reccomend over group permissims, im open to anything.
