Hi, so I've got a problem with my old world. Trying to run it in 1.8 but it gets stuck in creative mode. I've changed the server propertys to not be in creative mode. If I start a new map it goes into survival, but i want my old world to be aswell. Anyone know a solution?
Use MCEdit to copy the entire world and export as a schematic file. Allow the map in Minecraft to be installed again. Open up MCEdit and make an empty map. Import the schematic file. This may take awhile. You're done and good!
No need to do all this, get NBTedit and use it to open the level.dat file. Change the Game Type entry to 0 for survival or 1 for creative.
