I know that this doesn't sound like a very sophisticated thread, but I'm a noob and i want to make a few plugins, so just hear me out for a second. I know Java is the first thing to know. I know of bucky(although some people say his work isn't great), and I know of the java for dummys books, Is there any other tips about learning java? Second, should I start off small? I'm thinking of starting off with a plugin for tag(I know there is one already but its a way to start off), would that be considered small? Should I start off with a template of code and work off that as a start? I'm sure you all can help me and i hope I don't get trolled to much xD Thanks!
This forum is for resources ad the same suggests. Like tutorials/guides. I suggest watching thenewboston's videos on java. After that, to look at the HUGE Plugin Tutorial on the wiki. You can watch dinnerbone's video tutorial series on how to make a red carpet that appears below you and fades away.
Don't forget to look at these: http://jd.bukkit.org/doxygen/annotated.html very helpful stuff that people don't look at and end up asking questions about.
I started on Bucky's tutorials and I'm making good progress! Yay! I just found that there is 80 somethin videos to watch. Should I watch them all? If not, where should I stop?
Not really D: its a good idea but its too big and messy xD Yes you should D: Altho u dont need all of em to start devin, around ~30 you can start doin plugins but make sure u watch em all in the end.
Where can I find these tutorials? Also looking to start devin plugins and have little Java experience also EDIT: Never mind, a few threads down has a link to them For the interested: Video 1, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl-zzrqQoSE
