When you put an iron block (or an iron ore block) right over lava, it will get hot. If you stand on hot iron, you'll begin to take damage.

• This can be used to create traps
• Adds another element of danger to mining

• Fix so that it doesn't override godmode
• Burn items
• Set players on fire
• Hurt mobs as well
• Change it from onPlayerMove to a scheduled task (for non-programmers: less lag with more people)

Plugin request

There are two similar plugins that I know of: Netherrack Damage and Overheat (I programmed this before either of those, but procrastinated releasing it).

 

does this work on mobs? i would like to use it as a defence mechanism

 

Great idea, you should really look into allowing players to define their own burn messages, damage amounts, burn radii, and blocks that do burn.

I can't, it's too long.

 

Then remove one of the spaces, e.g. after "players". I am asking this because the bukkit version must be in brackets. It is regarded as tags, and there are numerous automated systems popping up that bases their information on these tags, texts inside brackets. So leave it if you want to, and your thread will be not be supported by those automated systems. Your plugin is the only one out of 1700+ that does not follow the guidelines that the bukkit version be fully enclosed in brackets [1000]...

Does this bypass your godmode plugin? What specifically do you want?

I don't know if this is part of the plugin, I haven't downloaded it yet, but I'm going to since this seems like an amazing plugin. Can you make it so if there is fire underneath the iron block that it still gets heated? Lava can sometimes get really messy, so this with fire would be a nice alternative, just something that I think would make this even more awesome.

 

It doesn't at the moment, but that's a great idea. Have a cookie and I'll probably add it by the 15th (I'll be travelling, without access to a computer, until then).
