Any protection plugins (for all players to use)

Are there any good protection plugins for all players to use? Not talking about things like WorldGuard.

I want players on my server to have the freedom to build as much as they want, meaning no plots. All they need is to protect their builds but I can't find any good ones.

There was a plugin called Residence, that was a great plugin for my server players to protect their builds which also allowed players to add friends to their build, but the plugin is outdated and broken (selection tool doesn't work). Are there any other backup plugins that work in a similar way?

The thing is that worldguard is perfect in your case becuase you can also allow friends to build in that area by typing /region define (playername 1, pn 2 pn 3...) the bad thing with that is that th eplayers would need world edit aswell, but as you said you want them to be able to build and have freedom, i would recommend worldguard for you.

 

@uyscutix GriefPrevention will allow you to do this. it is an automated anti griefing and anti spam plugin that allows players to create their own land claims using a claim tool defined by you in the config.yml file. You can set this claim tool to be any block you want but I would make it something easy to get like a wooden axe or spade.

GriefPrevention works at a server level and does not require the other player to have GriefPrevention installed. Unlike WorldGuard - which requires that everyone has WorldEdit installed for players to share each other's regions.

Also, GriefPrevention will automatically protect chests and the surrounding area within a 5 block radius. That means, when a player places a chest, that chest is automatically protected from griefing/looting and so on without the player needing to do anything.

When the player builds something on their land claim, every block that already existed within that claim and every block they have placed within that claim is protected by the claim. This means that another player can not come along and knock down their house or steal their items, animals, crops or anything within that claim. The player can then allow their friends to access their chests, or enter their house by using /accesstrust and they can share their land claims with their friends so that they can both build together on the same claim by using /trust

GriefPrevention also allows you or others you give the permissions to, to create and edit admin claims. Admin claims allow you to creates features within the world, like towns, villages - anything basically; that is only editable by you or your trusted admins. You can then give certain parts of that claim to players using subclaims without needing to give away all of the permissions to the entire claim.

I highly recommend that you search for GriefPrevention in the plugins directory by clicking the Get Plugins link above. There is also many extensions to the GriefPrevention plugin. For example: If you want to run a real estate economy on your server, there is an extension called Grief Prevention Real Estate. This will allow players to buy, sell or rent claims and subclaims.
