We just bought a server today running debian 8.1, but when i start up the server it just says
"You need to agree to the EULA in order to run the server. Go to eula.txt for more info." but clearly i have accepted the eula agreement

Make sure the server is stopped.
    Delete eula.txt.
Create a new text file named eula.txt in the server's root directory.
    In that, type only eula=true.
    Save and upload.
    Start server.
If you're still having errors, Post your latest.log on http://pastebin.com/ and link it here.

Also, I'm curious about how you spent $150 on a server. Did you rent out an entire machine? Or did you buy hosting from a Minecraft host with a preposterous amount of RAM?
