How does Mineplex do this?

    Alright so in their minigame named "Christmas Chaos", it plays custom sounds. They used it to mimic Santa's voice and it would play throughout the game.

    My question is though, did they use a custom resource pack or did they do some magical stuff with the 1.8 /playsound feature?

    Custom resource pack, I noticed that people accept the resource packs from servers most of the time, or at least in the servers I play

    @ReadySetPawn I believe there is a way to force resource packs now. Some packet, but I don't know the specifics.

    In server.properties im pretty sure you can prompt players to use the pack however you must remember you can't force people to use it since many people will lag with it etc.

    As others say its a recourse pack.
