Whenever I launch my server, it won't let anyone join.. not even myself :/

I tried port forwarding it, but it didn't do any good.. and as far as I know, I did it correctly.

I don't understand why, because this server worked great in the past, and it even let all of my friends join. I tried using a port checker, and it says the port is CLOSED. I tried disabling Windows Firewall, and that didn't help.

Each attempt at starting the server, I get the same message:
(DaShit.jar is the server build .jar file.. I just renamed it because it was easier for me to remember the file name and it was all I could think of.)

But it makes no sense. My other computers are shut off, and there's no other servers running on this computer.
I went into the server.properties file, and removed the server-ip from it, and now it launches, and I can join, but nobody else can. Halp!

It seems that you are trying to start a server on an external IP-address.
Leave the server ip in your server.properties file blank and start your server again.

Then use the port forwarding system in your modem to make your server available for everyone.

Since you are behind a router, what's happening is your computer doesn't know (directly) what your external IP is. Since your external IP "belongs" to the router, and not to your computer, you cannot bind to that IP. You have to bind to your local IP (it probably begins with 192.168) and port forward on your router

go to your server proprieties then where you see your server-ip Make sure nothing in there or else it will not work
