Ohai, Running an economy in Minecraft is a hard thing, especially when you want a well balanced one. On my server, we've been using Essentials Eco for a while, which is pretty easy to use. One problem we have encountered, however, was constant inflation. Our economy is, like many others, based on selling a certain resource to a bank: in our case emeralds. The money gained from those sales can then be spent on trading. The problem is that emeralds are, like everything else in Minecraft, infinitely available. This results in more and more emeralds entering the economy overtime, causing inflation. To counter this, I'd like to impose a simple sales tax on every transaction (say 6%). I haven't been able to find any economy plugins that offer such a tax on player based transactions (though there are a couple that work with central shops). What I'd like to request is: A plugin that deducts a certain percentage from an amount of money whenever it gets added to someone's balance. Jack pays $1000 to Billy, Billy only receives $940. It is important, however, that this works with every transaction, so whenever someone's balance increases. If I understand correctly, Vault could be used to make this work on various Economy plugins, including Essentials Eco, iConomy and BOSEconomy. Thanks for taking the time to read this! Rob -Biggar
Hate to do this, but here's a bump. Is this idea that hard to code? It seemed like it was simple enough, but the lack of replies is making me rather unsure...
It's not impossible to make and I imagine it would be fairly easy to do. You have to realize a lot of plugin developers browse this forum for a great idea. Now there are people like me who simply look for a simple project for experience. I'll send you a pm.
Favorlock Have you actually tried to make this plugin? Because this would be very useful to me and for a lot of people.
