I've looked on the bukkit plugin list and all "Tag" plugins are outdated or inactive. There were also only two that I saw listed. If anyone could create a new up to date one, that would be wonderful! For those of you who don't know what I mean by tag, I mean the game that we used to play when you got touched by a person you were it until you "tagged" someone else. Some things that I'd like to be included in this plugin: -maybe a freeze tag feature so that you can change the type of game to freeze tag. where the character's ability to move is removed or limited until they are tagged. -the ability to set a certain area as a tag specific area so players who leave the area are no longer a part of the game. and as soon as people join they become a part of the game. (maybe so you can set a certain block type to walk on, say gold block for example, and then any gold block within the set region are "game" for tag--this allows for different shaped "tag specific zones" rather than just square and rectangles. -a feature so that a person who is "it" can not leave the "tag specific area" until they tag someone else. -a tag free time in which a person who gets tagged is put on delay (set in a config or settings file) for a couple of seconds before they are able to tag someone else. -the person who is it has some sort of visual indication (a hat, a cape, something) -number of people to play feature so that you have to have a certain amount of players before the game can start or resume. if they are playing freeze tag, as soon as members leave and the amount of players reaches the minimum amount of players, everyone is unfrozen (prevents players freezing people and leaving). -time limit so after a certain duration of time is over the game resets and a new player is deemed "it" commands: pretty much all commands and settings should be taken care of in the config file other than setting the region. /tag region 1 gathers your current position as the first point in the region /tag region 2 gathers the second point in the region /tag setblock prompts you to right click the type of block which is a part of the tag zone. kind of alot for just a simple tag game. Please search for your plugins! It's so annoying how I have to say this a lot =/ http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/mctag/ It isn't outdated just like "all of them" are.
I did look for this plugin. I also downloaded the ones I could find and none of them worked with the current update. If you had read my post you'd see I had mentioned this. On top of that I want the tag game to be confined to a specific area whereas most of the plugins were based globally meaning you couldn't keep it confined to a specific area. The plugin you posted also doesn't keep it confined which basically means you can play it wherever. All you have to do is type a command to join (regardless of location) and you're automatically in the game. Also hasn't been updated since August. PHLegacy Plugins don't get outdated like mods do, and CraftBukkit wouldn't have updated enough for it to break. You may also want to talk to hawkfalcon, the developer.
That's not true because I've downloaded several plugins that didn't function correctly, or didn't work at all. A couple examples. I've been looking for drop party plugins and there's only two that I downloaded 1 didn't work and the other is outdated.
PHLegacy That have been updated within the last four or so months? August is pretty recent, it's just the 1.4.5 build of CB that is really going to break a bunch of really cool plugins

Hi! It has not been updated since then because 1.1 is a pretty major rewrite and I don't have much time at the moment! However, I can assure you 1.0 works fine on 1.4.5. That is correct, you choose between arena and server. No need, check out MCTag. He is referring to a game of tag. As mentioned above, MCTag works fine. Thank you! Exactly. Guys, so what!? Maybe he doesn't want those tag plugins. It seems like you all are just flaming over him asking even though something SIMILAR exists. Either way, your not the one that is being asked to spend time and do it so why does it even effect you at all. Lets all be mature about this and stop. I know, but I'm trying to expand my knowledge (and test it at the same time) and this seems like a fun challenge to me. MCTag Looks like a good plugin but as app1e mentioned, it doesn't meet the certain specs that I asked for. I saw you have a to-do list, but you said so yourself that it hasn't been updated in a while. Also the statement "Plugins don't get outdated like mods do" is a false statement. As I mentioned before, I've downloaded plenty of plugins that didn't work which hadn't been updated since August, september, etc--examples: colourfireworks doesn't function correctly (doesn't drop items) and was last updated in november. A slots plugin I downloaded was missing a ton of files and didn't function the way it should.
People don't need a new plugin for everything. If something similar exists, just missing a few aspects of the request, they wish to deny that plugin, and ask for another developer to completely make the plugin from scratch? They're asking a developer to spend quite some time just so they can have that extra aspect that the other plugin does not? If you wish to expand your knowledge, go ahead, young padawan.
