First I would like to say that I have read and tried all of the solutions offered on the threads I have looked at. My server IP in the properties file is blank, there are no javaw processes running, I have rebooted, I have changed the port in the properties file. I have forwarded the new port. There are no other servers running. I have no more ideas, help please.

I have tried the vanilla server after it was suggested on the page you linked to. It didn't work, sorry for bothering you then.
Are you running this on a VDS, a rented full non virtual machine, or your home computer? If a VDS everything should be al setup and all ports available for use already. If you have a reted full machine the port should be opened but a firewall blocks it if running windows on it. If its linux OS it should automaticaly be opened if the port is open on the router used. On your home computer assuming you're running windows, open the port on the port on the firewall. On Mac, can't help you. If you've tried all that I can't help you sorry.
Epizestro 1. Hit CTRL+ALT+DEL 2. Select "Start Task Manager" 3. Go to "Processes" 4. End Process "javaw.exe*32" 5. Start the server. Hope it helped!
I am running it on my home pc. I have no firewalls open and the router has the port forwarded correctly, checked and checked again. I guess it's just my computer then
