Hello. I bought a server with this specifications:

    - 16GB Ram
    - 2TB Hard Disk
    - 4 Ips (what is the plural of ip? )
    - Intel i5-750 or i5-2300 (it depends by the stock of the provider)

I want to host multiple servers with ~5 plugins each and 40 slots.
How much servers max can i host?

Depending on the speed of your internet connection, and the ram I use with an average of 10 players, I would be confident with 2, maybe 3.

I would expect you to have at least 5mbps up too, more the better.

I have 16gb of ram. In the past i was running a 64 slot on 2gb with Ptweaks.
    The connection is 1gb/s optical.

    EDIT: I did a test downloading a 1gb file. The speed is 12.1 Mb/s

    12.1 should be k.
I think you can host about 4 servers. Just a rough guess though..

Depends on size, you can often fit two servers per thread if they're smaller, and more if they're even smaller.

Use CacheFly's speed test (Test File)

He has a KS-16G obviously. 100mbps to the 'net, 1gbps LAN.

Ok, but I am simply telling him to try CacheFly. My server can download from CacheFly 20-40mbps faster then others.

Yes. I have the Kimsufi 16G.
The custom Ovh kernel is shit. It has only the modules that the server needs to power up and nothing more. Ovh also disabled the default Debian repository!

Downloading a file and looking at the speed doesn't tell you how fast your download/upload speeds are. How fast you download depends on the host and you. Upload is the main thing you need for a server. 5mbps + I would say you could hold 20 people. Go to speedtest.net to check.

    Er, what?

Kimsufi (OVH) servers are on 100 mbit connections and can indeed push that amount.

I meant 5 mbps or in that general area (5.0 - 5.4). You can surely host more with a higher upload speed.
