What I want: I'd like to see a plugin that does: When zombie, spider, cavespider, slime, enderman or silverfish hits you, you will get in a chance of 10% hungry, nausea effect, blind or slow. Hungry -> possible blind -> not possible slow -> possible nausea effect -> not possible Good ideas, ill give it a shot (the things which are possible).
Blindness and nausea (confusion) are possible using potion effects, see: http://jd.bukkit.org/apidocs/org/bukkit/potion/PotionEffectType.html . These effects are in vanilla, even though there aren't any potions that use them. But I use both effects in one of my plugins and they work great.
No worries, not many people know about these two unused mob effects.. I know I was surprised when I saw them in the protocol and I tried them and they actually worked. There are even constants for night vision and invisibility effects in vanilla Minecraft, but unfortunately they don't work.. If you're making this plugin I'd suggest allowing the effects to be configurable, so as new effects or mobs are added they could be used, or admins could configure different effects as desired. They all go through the PotionEffectType class so it's just a matter of PotionEffectType.getByName() or .getById() if you want to do this. Seems like it would be a fun plugin to use, I look forward to it!
