    Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
    As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.​
    As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.​
    This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.​

    About:
    Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.​
    Features:

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.

    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.

    Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help me figure this out, so Basically I have chestboxes as shops, I'm aware that if I put those chestboxes inside my residence they will be protected. Is there a way to have those chestboxes in my res area and still let other people use them? I've tried /res set <myRes> use true and still doesnt work ;[

    Hmm, just out of curiosity do you have any spaces in world names? I know there is issues with Multiverse and spaces. Other then that, I cannot replicate any world issues on my side, it seems to work fine.:oops: Any other plugins that do anything to worlds? it seems that whenever residence is calling getWorld() from the server its simply not returning any world with that name. Also, make sure Residences is loading after Multiverse. Hopefully we can figure it out, because i bet this is the same reason why many people loose their residences. :)

    Need more information, craftbukkit version? Error messages?

    Use the container flag. "/res set <residence> container true" This was changed in 2.0 so that use and container access were separate, so that you could have more control over residences :)

    Small request and a possible bug...

    /res select vert expands from bedrock to sky... however I only need to protect from ground level to sky. Would it be possible to get such a command?

    I then looked at /res expand... I looked up at the sky added about 10 blocks of expansion and nothing... no errors, no message, it just doesn't seem to expand. (I was using the message feature to determine where my boundries were.

    Has anyone ever had a problem with the liquids in the game not flowing properly while using this mod?

    Any fix for it?

    It starts out fine for me, and then after a while the water will not flow properly anymore. like you put down water and even after you kill the source you still see the water that flow from the source still there sitting on the ground. and they wont go away. Normally water goes away after you kill the source.

    I always have to restart my server to fix this issue but it always comes back.

    Hm, weird.

    - No spaces in the names
    - Plugins that affect multiple words are MultiInv, ProperTime, Worldguard, and such. The all load the worlds fine, and sometimes reload (MultiInv) after they detect a new world being loaded at startup.
    - Residence is trying to load somewhere the same time as Multiverse, is there any way I can make it load later?

    I'll see if I can find more info...

    Can someone explain to me how the /res area <add/remove> <residence> <areaID> command works?
    I would like to use it to create residences wich aren't just squares. I just don't get how you can create an physical area without creating a completely new residence. An explaination/mini-tutorial instead of the info from the wiki would really be appreciated.

    This is something I requested as well a while back, glad to see I'm not the only one. In fact I went in to the code and implemented a limited variety of the feature myself (locally). It sort of works like a block white-list that is not configurable from in-game but from the config and only supports the "world", i.e. everything that is NOT a residence, since this is what I needed it for.

    Let me know if you want my copy of the jar, with bekvon's permission I don't mind redistributing it, but this will only be useful if you want the exact feature I implemented ofc.

    OK I just set this loose on my players today and they LOVE it. Thank you for making such a great mod! After watching them use it for a bit, I have a few requests:

    • Please allow /resload to reload the config live. If I make setting tweaks early on in the adoption process, I have to reboot the server and that gets annoying to the players after too many of those.
    • Please allow a command similar to WorldEdit's //size, that shows the size of the currently selected region and especially the price for the player to buy it. This allows players to size out a potential plot of land without actually having to purchase it.
    It's a great plugin as-is, but with the addition of these two features it would be fantastic! Thanks again for all your hard work creating such a great plugin for the MC community.

    Is it possible to set a flag for a specific permissions group that cannot be changed, but it can be for others?
    example:
    Player from permissions group 'bob' creates area 'town'. 'bob' prevents group 'joe' from placing / destroying blocks in 'town' but group 'jesus' cannot be blocked from placing / destroying blocks in 'town'.
    Is this possible?

    It seems indeed like Multiverse loads after Residence for us. Is there any way to swap that around? Every other multiworld plugin (Worldguard, MultiInv, ProperTime, etc) we use manages to load before Multiverse loads just fine.

    I've seen a few people mention this now, and still no mention of a fix for it. I am also experiencing this issue, which obviously is a bit of a problem.

    No error messages other than the user being accused of hacking. Nothing server side other than the same message appearing in console.

    While I know it may be asking a lot, non-cuboid region support would be fantastic. As in, the ability to have a residence or area that's not just a simple square. I've seen it requested a few times, but it hasn't seemed to have gotten much attention (as far as I could tell).

    However, I would rather not have this feature delay the 2.1 release (with renting), but rather have it be in 2.2 or even 2.3.. just as long as its on the road map eventually.

    You are able to have advanced selections (not basic cuboid) by using the /res area <add/remove> <residence> <areaID>. This creates mulitple areas tidied to one residence.

    This can be useful for having two separate buildings that are part of the same residence, adding extra bits onto a already existing residence or, as in your case, create residence areas for more complex buildings them simple squares.

    Yes this plugin does work with permissions, but has a different way of dealing with it which is more suitable for this plugin. There is ONE permissions node, this is residence.admin.
    This gives that group the power to ignore all protections.

    To set up permissions for the rest of the plugin, please see the config file.

    The groups used in this configuration file relate to your permission group names.

    only thing it misses imo is an option to limit how deep one can define his area. (like everything under Y=50 is unprotectable. that would be really handy :)

    Ahh so do you mean, for example, to stop people protected areas underground?

    Ummm I kinda remember there being that as a node, but there once was then yes, it has now been removed. However I think the way the config works is much easier to manage.

    Oh I used that for multiworld-permissions - so that the same group could create residences in one world but not the other. Maybe it is still in there, as for us it seems to work :D
