Background:​

Survival Games is a plugin that has the aim of creating a fully automated hunger games style gaming experience. Asked to create a automated survival games plugin by Skitscape for his server and for his live streams, the plugin quickly grew into a full fledged gaming system. Update on status:
we ran test runs on the plugin last night with all the basic game play features included. The test went well and we should be ready for beta testing on the 8th or 9th

Cooooooooooooool, when you say beta... does that mean we will ALL get a chance to test it? Or will your team just test it?

 

We will be running beta testing on skitscape.com and possible release for open testing

 

That would be great because I just purchased a server and I would REALLY like it if this plugin released for public use or if I could be included in the testing. My server is 100% Hunger Games

No, we just started dev on this plugin a week and a half ago. I think they have there own custom plugin, but who knows maybe they would switch over once this one is done

 

So basically this plugin is gonna do everything their plugin does and more ?

Will this support a server with multiworld? E.G Having 1 world set to hunger games and the rest the plugin would be disabled?

 

Yes. It even supports multiple arenas per world and arenas in different worlds

 

Do we put in a world as a template that the plugin copies for seperate arenas or is the world generated/inbuilt by the plugin, if so which version of the map is it or do we get to pick

hello , this plugin looks really cool i hade a few ideas but i didnt know if u hade them or not. ones you done clicked signs on the wall to join a game it would put you in a lobby after the lobby u do /sg start and it teleports the users to a spawn block u set and it would start a countdown and the player cant move from that spot till the countdown went to 1... (let the games begin) or somethink do it a config file and ones a user dies or leave then it goes to a block u set also if u could do rewards to the last man standing or faction/clan or last 3 people to get a reward also this bit is proberly bit advanced but after a set time eg: 3000 seconds mobs spawn on a block u set also set mobs off or on or even better u get to choose what mobs are alloud in the game also if u know the war plugin when u get close to the edge of the map you can see a glass wall but if u look far away u cant see the glass. also with the rewards try do a economy system and with the signs a permissions system so it costs to play in the arena and permissions for only sertain ranks can enter the arena like the vip one and that hope that help and love to see the plugin come along also i would love to donate but i have a £40 server to run anyways goodluck . -Kirby

 

With the spawns, thats how it already works you set all the spawns and when a player clicks the sign it teleports them to the next available spawn point. When either the auto-start player count is reached, the spawns are full, or enough people vote to start (/sg start) it will countdown and start the game. When the players die, they will go back to the lobby spawn point. The rewards thing has been thought about but not implemented yet, but will be in the final version. For the mobs thing, theres a mob difficulty progression (eviroment progression in the main post) which basically means as the games progress the amount and difficulty of mobs spawning will get harder (i.e., ghast or charged creepers spawn). There will be a blacklist to change what mobs are aloud to spawn etc. For VIP , there will be VIP arenas that allow only certain ranks to join and cost to join will probably be implemented in the final version.

I have been working on a way to quickly duplicate arenas, although its a bit unstable at the minute so you will have to use mcedit or something. You are able to use any map your heart desires xD

 

So i can set multiple spawn for example i want a arena that holds 24 people but they cant move till the game starts or countdown ends and i wanted a arena that holds up to 100 people but when they join the game (clicked the sign) they go into a lobby room untill a admin/mod starts the game then they get spawned in an area witch can be marked with world edit and they have like 30 seconds invinsibiliy

 

Well currently it will add them to the game and teleport them to the their spawn point to wait until the game starts. Maybe in the future it will be possible to set what the players do before the game actually starts. Also players will have a configurable amount of time of incibilty when the game starts

This plugin is also testing on the servers of www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com and its running smooth you have a spec mode when you die you can view diffrent people and fly.

 

No it is not. That is an entirely different plugin they made just for themselves

Yes, it is based off the rules for the maps they release

It's not finished yet, but it should be ready soon, getting ready to start testing and once its stable we will release something

Can this mod make all blocks except vines, mushrooms and leaves unbreakable? I want to host the Survival Games 2 on my server but i cant find a proper way to stop cheating
