why sound is lagging and why it isnt bukkit's fault

seems a lot of people are complaining about bukkit causing lots of issues with 1.3.1, but not understanding bukkit cannot fix them, without changing the client. sound packets are now sent to the client instead of client doing the sound, so server has to send MUCH more packets to the client. this causes the latency issues you keep seeing. chunk load errors arent bukkit either, they are reported MANY times on vanilla http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Known_bugs/Version_1.3.1#Gameplay

basically, do your research before blaming bukkit.

Yeah 1.3 is pretty glitchy , but if you have problems with bukkit it's cause we are still technically on a dev build

Thanks for the explanation, necrodoom. It sounds like the architectural change for sound abstraction needs some tuning and/or re-thinking so that bukkit and the client can work more efficiently to preserve the Real-Time user experience.
