Antariano NeatMonster Jamy @Dr Danick This is probably the worst setup I have ever seen. Having to use a web server for this? Crazy. And setup? HOLY HELL!
McMyAdmin can be installed in 25 seconds on linux, via a shell script. Thats ALL you have to do to get it running. Here, especially if I was unaware of how to manage my server, how to use the console, etc., this could take quite some time to get working.

Being a server provider myself, I know that I would never provide this to any of my clients. I also know that when dealing with such a game as minecraft, with such a kid-like player base, simplicity is key. Having a setup that is confusing on a wiki, is much less appealing then an installation script that will take you 25 seconds to get up and running.

And why the HELL would you be announcing a release of SB2 without even getting out of the closed beta? I almost pissed my pants when I saw this. You seriously do not seem to know what you are doing here. I have also been made aware of an interesting happening. You announced SB2 not very long after the Febuary 13th announcement of the McMyAdmin 2 beta. Very interesting.... But...the biggest thing is, wow! Many things that you are adding seem to have been added to McMyAdmin 2!

Yes, it is a very bloated control panel, that is why it takes so long and requires so much to setup.

    Hello Whisk.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

I think we are all aware of the fact that SpaceBukkit is a bit complex to setup if you don't know anything about webservers. As we stated several times, SpaceBukkit 1.2, our next major version, will take care of most of the installation issues people are having.

It's an open-source beta product in it's early stages, and there's plenty of room for improvement.

McMyAdmin runs on an embedded webserver as well. You just don't see it because the installer does that for you.

Why wouldln't we announce our roadmap? Are you asking us why we are an open developer community that want it's userbase to know what's coming?
We felt like SpaceCP is a needed improvement. So we announced it. But I'll quote the SpaceCP announcement thread:

Thanks for your opinion, it confirms that we need to work hard on improving certain key parts of our product to make it truly good.

Yes, I did make an error on explaining the webserver. I more or less meant, why not allow SB to be run on a port instead of your Apache or whatever you are using.

As for announcing the roadmap, I'm not trying to say not to. But why would you jump into a SpaceBukkit 2 without even being out of a beta? Your roadmap can be for further releases of the current version down the road.

Can't get past Step 4. Just spits this out. I've made sure all my ports are forwarded, and confirmed that by having friends log onto the server. I've double checked the server address, both ports, and the salt.

Funny enough, I made a comment to my girlfriend about how salty the pretzels I was eating were right before I got to this page. Made me lol.

  8. It's really not that hard to find: http://spacebukkit.xereo.net/wiki/index.php?title=Installing#Introduction
Is the cURL extension for PHP installed?
Do both <your-ip>:2011/ping and <your-ip>:2012/ping reply "Pong!" when you navigate to them in a browser?
Did you maybe change the salt and not restart RTK?

My router is being a bitch for some reason... when I test the port via www.canyouseeme.org it says it's declined, yet players can log in... I didn't change the salt at all.

  10. No, just go to <your-ip>:2011/ping and <your-ip>:2012/ping, don't use an actual ping tool or anything similar, just navigate to that address and see if it shows "Pong!". If 2011 doesn't show "Pong!", then the plugin has a problem, if 2012 doesn't show "Pong!", the module has a problem :p

On line "Manual install (Linux)" underneither it, it redirects you to another link. Misleading if you ask me.

    Code:
    Manual install (Linux)
If you really don't want to use our script, no problem. Here are the instructions:
    Step 1
    Download the panel: [6]
Download the panel: [6] goes to http://dl.xereo.net/rec/web.zip

Call me stupid all you like, I don't care, but there is clearly a misleading situation here, rather than call me stupid, work with me to fix the problem at hand.

Just to be sure, SpaceBukkit and RTK both work with CraftBukkit 1.2 RB, correct?

half_bit - both are responding with pong, yet it still refuses to work =/

  13. That link is indeed wrong, thanks for pointing it out.

Mmh, are you sure you are using the correct salt? i.e. did you directly copy paste it from <mc-folder>/SpaceModule/configuration.yml ?
Also try using localhost as address if the bukkit/minecraft server and the webserver are on the same machine.

half_bit - Yes, I've directly copy-pasted the salt. I've attempted to use both the direct IP and the DNS redirect I've got set up. However, the server and the webserver are on two different machines (I pay for web hosting)

Your settings are invalid, the following errors occoured:
Der Server konnte nicht erreicht werden. Bitte überprüfe deine Daten.
    Why? It is running!

  18. Mmmh, it could be that your webhost blocked cURL or the two ports. Could you PM me your address and salt so I can try it on my panel?
Open <your-ip>:2011/ping ad <your-ip>:2012/ping in a browser and see if they both pong.

Hey, I keep getting an Internal Server Error when I try to access SpaceBukkit, and when I look in /spacebukkit/tmp/logs/error.log, the only error I see (repeated many times) is:
    Code:
2012-05-08 22:52:09 Warning: Warning (512): _cake_core_ cache was unable to write 'file_map' to File cache in [/home/portalcr/public_html/spacebukkit/lib/Cake/Cache/Cache.php, line 310]
    Trace:
    Cache::write() - CORE/Cake/Cache/Cache.php, line 310
    App::shutdown() - CORE/Cake/Core/App.php, line 888
    [main] - [internal], line ??

Anyone know how to fix this (note that I don't have access to Apache configuration, this is on a free web host)?

Is your app/tmp directory and all it's subdirectories writable?

    I'm getting a 403 - Access denied :)

Yes, since I chmodded the entire SpaceBukkit folder to 777 out of frustration...

Is the Permissions support going to support PEX SQL, because the few tools (2) that do are half finished at best.
I would switch to bpermissions but SQL is so much more efficeant for the large servers and multiple rank systems. + I keep the SQL on its own SSD drive so it doesnt use the Minecraft Servers SSD access/read/write time .
