Warning - Can't keep up! Question

Hi there Bukkit vets,

I have a quick question for you guys:

Can the console message "Warning Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?" be caused by bandwidth?

I was wondering because I use the lag meter plugin and sometimes I'll get this message a lot, but when I check with lagmeter I often have 90%+ memory free (out of 6GB) and 18-20/20 TPS lag. My upstream bandwidth is about 10M. This can happen when I have anywhere from 10-30 people online. Sometimes I get a single message, sometimes the message floods my console 15 minutes+.

 

Its not your internet speed, its main cause is because your hard drives are not very fast. Now ever since the map format was changed this has improved but its still not a bad idea to get a small SSD to run the server on. I have over 16 people on my server and I never see the messages. granted I do run two ssd in RAID0

Anyhow its not a huge deal, you allready know its not creating an issue for your users, your TPS is just fine.
