I've had this problem for weeks on my server now.

Server spontaneously crashes for no reason, producing this error message in console:

    http://pastebin.com/iggQnTz7

    And this error log:

    http://pastebin.com/MSNBXL3t

I did post this thread a while ago, but I've come closer to finding a possible cause.

There seems to be a small area in one of my worlds where if people walk there, the server simply pukes and shuts down. Whether you teleport there, fly in, log in, or walk there, it does not matter. Server crashes. For security reasons, I won't say where this area is.

Could someone elaborate on why this is happening and how I can stop it? I'm just considering putting a ton of solid blocks around the area until the issue is solved.

Also, resetting the map is not an option. There is too much valuable stuff on this map.

I agree that you seem to have a corrupted chunk

if there's not a lot nearby, you could use http://dinnerbone.com/minecraft/tools/coordinates/ to find out the region file (it'll actually be something.mca, not mcr) from the coordinates, and either restore it from backups, or just plain delete it. Regions cover a 512x512 area though, so this may not be practical (though if you have a block logger like logblock or prism you could theoretically delete the file so it regenerates, then ask it to replay the logs so all changes get readded)

There are also tools that claim to be able to repair corrupted chunks, but I have no experience with them
