Updating to 1.5.2 stops my server from working.

Ever since updating to 1.5.2 my server has stopped working and it does not work when I try to backdate it to the recommend build either. I cannot connect using localhost or my IP and my friends cannot connect. I have checked my IPV4 address and it is still the same and my ports are all still open but I just don't know why its not working. Also when I try to join the console says I haven't even attempted and it stays blank.

just to make sure ... you did type :11111 after the server ip ... right ?

 

I have and I port forwarded it aswell

 

What is your server.properties?

 

is it running on your own machine?

if yes, can you connect with the ip "localhost:11111" ?

the server is running on the same machine your trying to connect from and localhost is not working ?

then you must have some kinda firewall running, try to check that

 

I have turned my firewall of is there any hidden things that could block it or does it have another name on the firewall list?

 

what does your minecraft say when it cant connect to the server ?

also, try connect to 127.0.0.1:11111

 

That IP does work but its not my server and when I try to connect to my server it says "Internal exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out"

 

if 127.0.0.1 works .... then yes its your server, couse that ip is a loopback (meaning that no matter, what ip you have 127.0.0.1 will ALWAYS connect to your self)
or you can see it as localhost = 127.0.0.1

when you connect to 127.0.0.1, does anything come up in the console ?

 

No that's why I thought it wasn't my server. That server is full of world errors and when I turn my server off when I am on that server it does not kick me out?

 

then it may be because theres an old server still running on your pc
(THAT IS WHY YOU SHALL ALWAYS USE THE /stop COMMAND TO TURN OFF YOUR SERVER)
the easyest way to find out is by restarting your pc, if that dont work, open the task manager -> processes -> show for all users, try to find all processes named something with java

 

Does replacing your craftbukkit with the newest craftbukkit work?

I have restarted my pc but I can no longer connect to 127.0.0.1:1111

Thanks for all of your help. It turns out McMyAdmin runs in the background without me opening it so it was trying to run 2 servers at the same time.

I still don't understand why I cant connect through an external IP

Is it a problem with Internet, Router, etc.? Try and Check and Double Checking your Internet, Router, etc. Best of Luck! ~Polish

 

I didn't know McMyAdmin uses port 8080 by default so I had to forward that.
