Towny chat and Essentials chat help

I am having trouble figuring out a way to enable towny chat, showing the nations, towns, etc while using essentials chat.

I have tried removing essentials chat, but then I have no chat formatter, resulting in a white name with <> on the beginning and end, while towny chat still does not work.

I have also tried '[{TOWNYTAG}]{DISPLAYNAME} {MESSAGE} '
in my essentials config, without any luck.
I had townytag in caps, small letters, it only shows up white in chat in game.

If anyone can tell me how to fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated, thank you

 

setup your townychat format, disable esschat when its done. essentialschat isnt designed to handle towny tags, townychat is.

 

I have tried removing essentials chat completely, after using the default towny setup and it seems to not work :/

 

make sure towny is launching properly, paste startup log.

 

Nevermind, my bad, craftbukkit had an update and when i downloaded it i forgot to replace it, thanks anyways everyone who tried to help!
