When a player teleports, if the distance is too far, they can see all the way to the void (in a 16x16 area) they will either a) continually lose health until death b) vall into the void c) manage to teleport to the spawn, and die from what appears to be fall damage. That usually means that the server can't keep up with the teleport. If your running a 256mb server you cant really teleport without lagging out.
