    This plugin was originally inspired by TrainYourBrain's Vampire plugin. My server used and enjoyed Vampires, but we felt that more fun could be had by having multiple classes; each with their own unique abilities. After a lot of brainstorming, civilized debate, and shouting; we decided to start with an initial release of Vampires, Werewolves, Ghouls and Priests.

    What's new in Version 2:
    Version 2 of Supernatural Players adds the classes of Demon and WitchHunter. Both classes are considered to be Ranged DPS type. Further details can now be found in the Classes list below. Also available is Multi-World support. To use this feature you need to set (multiword: true) in the config.yml. Then set for all permission groups in the worlds where you don't want the plugin to be active.

    • General Information:
      • Classes include Vampire, Werewolf, Ghoul, and Priest
      • All classes have active and passive abilities that depend on their current power level.
      • Each class has a slightly different method for gaining power (See class details below).
      • Using active abilities and dying both drain a player's power.
      • Each class has unique join and quit events (See class change details below).
      • Your current power/total power determines how well your passive abilities work!
      • In-game help is accessed by /sn help
      • WitchHunters' Kill List is randomly generated on server restarts. (Admin command /sn rmTarget can be used to remove players from the list)
    • Class Join/Leave Information:
      • Each class has a unique event required for joining or leaving.
      • Joining a Class:
        • Humans construct special Altars to convert to Vampires, starting with a solid Gold Block.
        • Humans sometimes convert to Werewolves when dying to wild wolves at night.
        • Pig Zombies sometimes have the ability to make humans undead rather than just dead.
        • Any human who shows proper devotion to the Church may become a Priest.
        • Non-Priest humans who can prove their Supernatural Hunting Abilities by slaying 3 different types of supernaturals without dying will be invited to the WitchHunters' Association.
        • Humans who enter the Nether covered in dead animal skins (leather armor) and sacrifice themselves to the Inferno will become Demonic.
      • Leaving a Class:
        • Vampires construct special Altars to regain their humanity, starting with a solid Lapis Block.
        • Werewolves must make themselves a Wolfbane potion, starting with an empty Bowl.
        • Priests merely have to insult the Church by offering Coal to the donations' Altar.
        • The Holy energy of the Church's Altar will sometimes cleanse a Ghoul and restore their humanity.
        • Demons who die in icy water while carrying snowballs will find the demonic fire in their blood cooled.
        • WitchHunters who exhibit extremely poor bow skills (kill themselves) will be removed from the Association.

    • Spell Details:
      • The term 'Supernatural' applies to Vampires, Werewolves, Ghouls, and Demons only.
      • All spells will consume the item used to cast them.
      • Priest spells have a range of 20 blocks.
      • Banish will send the target player to the Banish Location set by server admins
      • Drain will remove 15% of the target's current power
      • Heal restores up to 5 hearts of health per cast
      • Cure will restore the target to Humanity (reverting them to Priesthood or making them merely Human) [Both the Priest and the target must be holding Flint for this spell to function]
      • Exorcise also restores the target to Humanity, but does not require the target's cooperation!
      • Teleport to Coven will return the Vampire to a location set by server admins
      • Demons' Snare spell lasts only 10 seconds.
      • Cycle through a WitchHunter's Arrow Types by Left-Clicking with a Bow
      • A WitchHunter's Power Arrow will cause the bow to go into 'cooldown' before you can fire again.
      • Triple Shot is intended to help WitchHunters keep a supply of arrows. If you do not want WitchHunters to gain arrows this way then remove Triple Shot from the config.yml
      • Vampires are immune to sun damage when wearing a Gold Helm
      • Ghouls' Unholy Bond ability allows them to share damage taken with their supernatural target as long as they are close by
      • Priests' Guardian Angel ability will protect their friend from death once

    Setup Steps:
    1. Download .zip file
    2. Unzip files and place in plugins/ folder
    3. Start Server
    4. Go to Church location and use /sn setChurch
    5. Go to Banish location and use /sn setBanish
    6. Create a WitchHunters' Hall by placing an Iron Door with a nearby sign using the term 'WitchHunter' (default)
    Additional Note:
    Most features in this plugin can be changed in the config.yml for balancing or to help prevent conflict with other plugins. However, be warned that improper changes to the config.yml can cause the plugin to fail entirely! Most servers should not have to make any changes to the default settings in order to successfully run Supernatural Players.

  2. For some reason I do not catch on fire as a vampire. Is this because I'm an admin? I also have a firespread plugin installed, but I don't see why that would interfere.

    Hey I am having a problem where some spells will not cast!
    Like The Fireball.
    And For Priest Only The Cure And Heal Casts.
    For Ghouls, Nothing Casts.
    For Werewolf, Nothing Casts.
    There are others i can not think of atm. Help? :O!

    That's peculiar, I also have matejdro's MonsterHunt installed and its runs with SupernaturalPlayers without any problems. do you have the latest MonsterHunt Version, 1.3.1?

    also that problem with lava not breaking a fall upon contact with the lava-bed also occurs with human players.

    Yea its a problem with Bukkit not with the plugin.

    Do you get any messages? Do you use WorldGuard?

    The server is not mine, I am just a player of the server and help the owner a lot.

    As far as I know, he gets no errors and we do use WorldGuard.

    Some spells work yet others don't. Could that be a problem with the item set? Such as, an item being used for something else which causes an error?
    I do not think the items are used for something else but is that possible?
    Also what happens when you left click? does it activate a command that we may not have access to?

    May seem like stupid questions, how do you donate to the church? Also how do you set the church altar. I place a diamond block and it doesn't do anything.

    After you set the diamond block you must do '/sn setChurch'

    Sounds like you don't have PvP enabled in the place you are trying to use spells.

    No pvp is actually enabled, when we left click, nothing pops up, nothing happens.
    Nothing happens at all.

    is there a way to turn off the login msg when a player joins? I dont want it annoucning what they are to the entire server. I want it to be a suprise for people.

    I don't know. You say only Cure and Heal are working and those are the only two spells that can be cast anywhere. All other spells check for PvP or MonsterSpawning in WorldGuard.

    Make a building and place an Iron Door in the doorway. Place a sign near the door that includes the word: 'WitchHunter'

    Then when players get the invite they go and knock on the door and they will become a WitchHunter.

    Only WitchHunters will be able to enter/exit the building through that door.

    They have to be wearing full leather before the enter the Nether Portal

    Right-Click the altar block.

    I'm curious if it is only me or if I missed something if I did I apologize as I've been looking for fixes for quite a few things today in minecraft. Anyway I recently installed this plugin as I loved the vampire mod but could never find something that added in others. This does it but I can't get demons to work without just using admin convert on someone. I am using Multiverse and have the nether turned off on my server as first thing I saw happen was someone built a portal to the nether, went there, and came back but the portal made a new one back home and put it in the middle of someones tower. So anyway yeah i can't figure out why I can become a werewolf by playing with wild wolves but the demon is impossible. I put on leather armor before entering my portal to a nether world. Jump in lava and die and then go home and I'm still human. Anyone have any suggestions?

    For Werewolf you must die to to a wild wolf at night. There is a 35% chance of conversion.

    For Demon if you enter the Nether in full leather armor and then die in lava you should convert 100% of the time.

  24. I love this plugin and you've done a great job on it! And I thought you might like an rpg/pvp server owner's view.

    My main complaint, is the lack of config options that actually work.
    Could you find a way to make every option work on every race? So we could even copy and past, and edit our own supernatural monster.

    As for more config options, I want all my supernaturals to gain power over time. but the "Time:" option only works on vampires.
    Another example, I would like my Demons to be able to wear golden armor only, and have ghasts be on their side. Or have witchhunters able to use iron swords. Ghouls able to use golden swords.

    It seems like Demons and ghouls are the weakest out of all of them. Ghoul's summoning zombie doesn't work, and the zombie instantly turns on me. Demons have such a large power cost for fireball, and its regen for power takes 10-15mins to get fully charged. only to blow it all away on 5 fireballs (no pun intended).

    Also the option to disable abilities, would be fantastic. Only because I'm not fond of some of the abilities. (Like priests exorcism.)

    An idea I had, it would be cool to have "scaling" bonuses with the age of your character. the only you are a <insert here> you gain more powers, or deal more damage, or gain more power faster.

    Also, as for new ideas for abilities, look at MagicSpells by Nisovin, he has some awesome spells, that I plan on coupling with this plugin. My favorite, would be firenova (would be BADA$$! on Demons) or Volley, I also like, for witch hunters.
    Also temp invulnerability for ghouls. Or Drain Life, for vampires.

    Just my 2cents :D

    Hullo i had a few ideas for further classes if your interested.
    Elf- Minor Healing and archery, a cross between witchhunter and preist.
    Golem- A tank class for the 'good' side.
    Dwarf- A class thats good at combat with axes and mining. (The mining much like in mcMMO)

    The extra config options would mean a significant time and coding effort. I try to keep everything pretty flexible as it is, but to build a full blown class-creation plugin would be tough.

    You can disable most abilities by just changing the power cost to 10001 or require a spell reagent that is impossible for players to get (unlit redstone torch).

    I can say that in the next major patch we will be giving Demons, Priests, and Ghouls each a new ability in addition to adding in Ice Elemental and Nightstalker. That should give some more variety and config options.

    Yea, this is true. I used code from the vampire's sunlight check to implement this quickly :(

    Two glass blocks would make them regenerate though :oops:

  30. So I'm using this in correspondence with the Hungry plugin and I was wondering if you can make the two compatible, so if you are a vampire and you left click a cow or pig you could suck their blood and make it simulate the effect of eating an apple or something. Thanks, I love this plugin! :D
