Someone is dosing my server.

So i have a server and someone is trying to connect with this ip: 94.231.101.83 and always with other port every 5 minutes and i seen my log, after about 2hours of connecting at night my server crashed because the server was overloaded. So how can i prevent my server from dos and ddos attacks?

 

Have you added your server to any websites such as MCServerList or MineStatus? If so then getting this lost connection message periodically is normal. They "ping" your server to test whether it is online or not.

So i haven't added my server on any of those server lists.

 

If it really is someone trying to grief/crash, setup IPTables and firewall them from the entire server
