    MOVED TO DEV BUKKIT:
    News

    v2.4.2 Released - 9/24/2011
See the change log for details.
Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.
As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.
This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.

    Residence Signs (by KarnEdge)

NOTE: All Residence usage information has been moved to the wiki!

    About:
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.
    Features:
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.
    • Two ways to select land including using the select command, or using a item to select 2 points.
    • Messages when you enter / leave a residence. (customizable)
    • Land "leasing" system which requires users to renew the lease on their protection every X number of days or loose the protection. (off by default, see config file)
    • Recursive Sub-zoning. Create zones within zones, and then zones within those zones...
    • TONS of configuration for admins. Customize every single flag that players can or cannot use in the config file, based on their permissions group.
    • (Optional) IConomy support, can set up cost per X number of blocks protected.
    • (Optional) Permissions support.
    • In-game help / commands descriptions

    • Fixed global "container" flag bug.
    • Fixed some NPE's related to explosions.
    • Added /resload command to load the save file after you make changes to it (UNSAFE, as it does not save residences first, and so you may loose new residences that were just created)
    v2.2
    • Added per residence Blacklist/Ignorelists that will allow you to specify certain block types to be ignored from residence protections, or unable to be placed in residences.
    • Added Server owned land, use /resadmin server <residence> to change the owner to "Server Owned"

    v2.1
    • BOSEconomy support.
    • Essentials Economy support.
    • RealShop Economy support.

    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.
    • New Developer API, including custom Bukkit events.

I still have the same problem, even with the new version
I set the flag for an residence to "move false" and if somebody tries to move into my residence he gets this:
    Unbenannt.png
He can only play again on the server when I delete my residence (or gets kicked again and again,...)

Okay I'm liking the plugin however. If i created a residence lets say for example The_City. I then made a area inside it. Heres the problem the plugin does not have "set flags on areas" which i need.

I want it so that poeple inside the residence people can have their own bit which is protected.

    Should i use a Subzone?
I have tryed but i dont like how it says
    "welcome...... The_city.house.........."

    Rent is coming for 2.1:

You can always change the welcome message manually, no need to actually use the %residence token. Bekvon mentioned somewhere that if he was going to change the subzone name check to something different than the dot-system he would have to do a lot of changes in the code, so probably not something we'll get very soon (if at all).

And yes, subzones is exactly what you're looking for.

    Hello,
There is ONE permissions node which is 'residence.admin' this allows groups with that node to ignore all residence limits. Eg. build in places that are protected.
Further limitations are defined in the config file.
Please see Set Up and Configuration in the wiki for more information.

    Hi,
at first: its nice so to make some land for my "little" other players :) but i have two errors
if i try to create a land.
The first one is: "Error, 0 sized area."
The second Error is: "Error creating residence."
    Here a picture: helppls.PNG
Hope someone can help me. I use iConomy 5 and permissions, but i am op and full right admin.
    Thanks :)

Edit: Have found the error. Its cause of the land high. Have now selected so that its from Sky up to bedrock. Now it works :)

Has Residence been fixed to work with mcMMO now? If so, is there a version containing these fixes that still uses iConomy 4? I've had to keep mcMMO disabled lately because Residence land and pvp protection could by bypassed with mcMMO. I can't update to iConomy 5 yet though because BetterShop hasn't updated yet and that is how my users get money.

I recently updated to Residence 2.0, and I noticed in the new config file that the "monsters" flag is no longer listed. Did 2.0 eliminate the monsters flag? Is there no way to control monster spawns any more?

When I do the /res set (res name) build, it says flag set, but others still cant build on the land like putting up signs and what not, is there something im missing or is this a bug?
This is by far one of the best plugins out there for protection. Without this what we are doing on my server wouldnt be possible.

You don't have to select full from sky to bedrock.
Just make sure that you atleast have your primary point on a different height than your secondary point.
Just imagine that you can't have A and B on this line.
    So like.
    A
    B
    Or
    B
    A
    never
    A B

Did that even make sense or am I just born cryptic? :p

Make sure your residence version uses the correct iConomy version.
Because one of the residence versions uses iConomy 5 and then it might not work as well as expected.

Would it be possible to set up some kind of system where admins could create a residents that could "temporary change a persons permissions when entering it? For example you could create a bank area that when players entered this area that would gain the permissions needed to use the bank. Or have a store area that when ever a player entered this area that would gain what ever permissions needed to use the store. ..and etc.

I think this would be something really cool I just don't know how hard it would be to implement.

Personally I think its a bad idea to have 2 plugins for the same feature. For example, i would never have 2 shop plugins or 2 give plugins. Just curious, why do you want both?

For everyone having updated Residence but can't use iConomy 5.0 yet (because of other mods not updated to that version yet), you can download older versions of the .jar from the GitHub repository. Just go to History (link on the right, a bit lower than the Download link) and click on the first line BEFORE the one named "update for iConomy 5". The jar is there to download.

    Here's a direct link:

    Repository
    Download pre-iConomy5

You can use the same config.yml as before, no changes there.

Ok I cant figure out why residence wont let my admins create and zone off areas. This is my yml file. The only person that can create zones is me and thats if I have the '*' node. My admins group does indeed have 'residence.admin' nodes. any ideas? very frustrating.
