    Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
    As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.​
    As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.​
    This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.​

    About:
    Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.​
    Features:

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.

    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.

    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.

    Is it possible to block using a bucket within a residence if build-flag is false? Can't secure some minecart-tracks because people with water buckets can destroy them. also lava can be put anywhere D:

    Will the source ever be released? This plugin has errors with LWC, LyTreeHelper, and OtherBlocks that I think needs to be adjusted by the priority.

    what type of errors?
    i use lwc and residence and they seem to work fine together.

    if i give a group the flag use=true then it lets them break blocks in my zones but give them the warning you are not allowed to build here.
    running res 1.2.8 and CB 617

    dropedit causes this. for any blocks that you change the drop for. don't know why but can you look into it. I will also inform the dropedit dev and see if they can help fix it.

    there is one more thing it should be added, chest protection in your residence (you can make it a flag).
    Anyway, great plugin!
    Also, make an option so only admins can create zones, but players can buy/sell them.

    1. I beleive that the use flag covers chest protection.
    2. Don't give their group the permission node residence.create and then set their group in the config to allow buying and selling. (not tested, plus this assumes that you are using Permissions)
     
  19. This was exactly what I was looking for when getting back into minecraft. It always bugged me that people couldn't setup their own protected areas. I love this plugin and it has worked perfectly so far!

    I do have one request though. Would it be possible to allow the /select command to accept vert for the y parameter? I have some aliases setup so that people can use /selectmax to basically claim the maximum size residence, and /select2d so that they can just worry about the horizontal dimensions, but currently I have to make the y parameter half the max height (256 blocks), which doesn't claim bedrock to sky unless the player is standing at elevation 128.

    Love this mod, really very handy and flexible.

    Couple of feature requests:

    1. User unique residence names.

      This would allow all users to make a residence called "home" without conflicting with other users residences also called "home".

      The way I suggest implementing this is having all residences named <username>.<residencename>. By default if a command that takes a residence name as an argument has a residence without a dot in the name, it is assumed to be the user's own residence.

    2. Ability to rename residences.

      Should be self evident.

    3. Ability to expand an existing residence.

      User should be able to do a /res reclaim or something like that to modify the shape of the residence.

    4. WorldEdit style region commands.

      Take a look at WorldEdit's selection commands and think about implementing some (or all) of it, if you can. Right now if you want to be specific about your residence's selection, you have to actually move to the opposite corners and click on something. With an expand command that takes size/direction arguments, users could click easily reachable parts of their building, expand in whichever directions they need by a few blocks, and then create the residence.

    5. /res remove should optionally refund the user the cost of the residence.

      Or perhaps there should be a /res refund <residence> command. Either way, if an admin needs to fix someone's residence by removing it, then refunding the cost would help out.

    Hi, can you add MultiWorld Support ? (for flag applied whenever a player i outside a residence. i want to active PVP in nether and turn off for real world) (sorry i'm the french guy :p)

    It's possible to add an option for just delimit the city with pvp off, and out of the city pvp ON ? Because if i create a giant zone around my city with pvp off, my players can't use correctly your plugin (subzone have no flag, ...).

    yes, iam op, but everyone can build in protected areas. i have installed groupmanager and set the groups in the config like the groups there. nothing works...
    here all the plugins that are insatlled to:
    stats&achievements, craftbook, dynamic market, dynmap, eco creature, general, groupmanager, homex, ichat, iconomy, logblock, lwc, minecartmania, multiverse, worldedit, worldguard, xwarp

    Everything you need is in the config. You'll need to read through it carefully.

    The creatordefaultflags is what you're after I think for your first question.
    Your second question would be useLeaseSystem and the leasesettings section in each group.

    As you can see, all my permissions are in there, and configured correctly as far as i'm aware (I have Guest, User, Admins, Owner). The problem I have is that I only seem to get one use out the tool to set the residency area each server reboot. Every time afterwards when I try to use it, it always comes up with "Residence Has a Size of 0 (zero), cancelled"

    I can still use the coordinates to set a zone, but the tool only once.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    @Seraph: Do you use WE as well? If you do, change the wand for residence to a different wand than WE's.

    mhhh i have tried different things but still have the problem that everyone can build in protected areas...
    deactivated worldguard, deactivated antibuild and other things, but still the same problem...
    here is one sample residence, the others look similar.
